The third episode when Ash catches pigeotto, I instantly loved this Pokémon when I was a kid. It was a shame that Pigeotto lost some battles because Ash didn’t know better. Up to this day at 29 years of age, pigeotto still has a special place in my heart.

So Pidgeot finally returned to Ash's team... in the very last episode. We won't even get to see its mastery. Hopefully if Ash has future cameos it'll be in his battling roster, or we can see it again in specials. These two evidently share an even closer bond than with the Kanto starters, Pidgeot's been with Ash almost as long as Pikachu.

Pidgeot was so underrated. It was one of the two of Ash's original team to not be on bad terms with Ash at anytime. They had so many chances to bring it back (Teasing it in the battle frontier openings and they could've shown it in the I Choose You Movie) hopefully it comes back one day

Even Ash seemed to undervalue it. When he was stuck in that ice cave he sounded kind of bewildered that Pidgeotto cared about him enough to try to keep him warm.

Pidgeotto was cast aside and overlooked very early on and never given the credit or chance it deserved. It was somewhat annoying that when pidgeotto finally evolved, briefly giving hope that it could finally get the spotlight it deserved, ash releases pidgeot. Hopefully pidgeot will return again.

Let's hope Callum! It had a really fun run before the starters were captured being one of Ash's main battlers. I think its story would be 10X better if it had just one epic gym or league battle.

I really miss Pidgeot. I still think about the ending theme "My Best Friends" while Ash and the squad are chilling in a cave during a snowstorm. Pigeotto felt like a staple

Pidgeot has officialy returned and reunited with Ash in the final episode, making it the first of Ash's released Pokemon to rejoin him **permanently** It's also worth mentioning that this is the last episode of the Ash Ketchum saga

Men, all i want to say about my favorite of Ash’s Pokemon. I am teary eyed watching your narration. My boi Pidgeotto/ Pidgeot was the most neglected of the writers Pokemon by Ash’s during the original series. At leat they gave Kingler and Muk a spotlight during the league and Taurus in the orange islands.

And Now Pidgeot has finally returned to the anime in Ash's final episode. And rejoined Ash and made home at Oak's I just can't believe it. Ash's second caught Pokemon. The Pokemon we were hoping to come back after it's released has finally come back. Looks like Ash kept his promise after all! 😁😄I'll probably bet Pidgeot is making friends with his successors: the rest of Ash's Regional birds right now.

I think that Ash’s Pidgeot was good while is one of his two weakest Flying types many it’s less battling experience but i still prefer it to Unfezent as it did have a personality since it was very loyal to Ash and I hope Ash will one day go back for it.

Unfezant had a personality too, it was proud of getting rid of the venipede and was happy as a Pidove then it started to evolve into a tranquil and then at skyla's gym tranquil was losing and then tranquil sensed ash's determination and evolved into unfezant

1:39 if I remember right the manga said many people start out loyal if you managed to catch them but that loyalty can be lost. Pokemon can choose to leave their trainers and go wild or to another if they want to.

@@ProfessorAlexSilver I think the anime never elaborated much on it due to the age demographics they target. The manga is aimed for the older audience. Zombie Psyduck etc and that arbok that was cut in half by a Charmeleon. Their loyalty seems to be that if they are bested in battle they are worth following hence his birds always listen. However if ash were to mistreat them etc they would lose loyalty and eventually leave/could leave. It's also boring from a narrative standpoint if all his Pokemon always listen and the life lessons and what not they add for his training to get them to be obedient.

In Kanto Ash’s Pidgeotto is his only hard counter to James’ Weezing. If he didn’t have it, Team Rocket would probably have gotten away with Pikachu.

I Absolutely love the Pidgey line when available it's always on my team one of my aces Ash's Pidgeot deserved better it would have evolved sooner had he actually used it more but it got bumped aside for the starters I do hope it's brought back again and gets some love.

As a Pidgeotto, Pidgeot was in so many episodes. It was one of the main characters of the show. I remember as a seven-year-old I was disappointed. Now I'm in my twenties and still disappointed. Thanks for the vid:)

I am very happy to see that Ash's Pidgeot have finally returned to his team at last after many years of depart from Ash back in the original Pokémon Series. I just wish the same thing happened to Ash's Butterfree and Greninja too and I mean return to Ash's team permitely before Ash and Pikachu leave the Pokémon anime series forever.

Fun facts, in the Pokemon books, not the comic books, there were two that were Original Stories not told in the anime in which Ash had Pidgeot with him as if he had kept it. Can't remember any specific battles but I do remember one part where team rocket leaves Ash tied to a rock and he fumbles pidgeots Pokeball off his belt and Pidgeot frees him. I think they help someone with an air balloon race and Pidgeot helps pull it.

These videos are a great analysis it’s like rewatching the show but seeing only Pokémon moments. Pidgeot got shafted though. It appeared a lot as a pidgeotto but never importantly until the ep it evolved. Could’ve been well used instead of released. It’s interesting to note Ash never released another flying type bird.

Glad you're enjoying it! I was always more interested in the characters than the plots, so I like to think of these videos as a way of cutting out all the filler and only providing the meat.

Man I miss ashes Pidgeot it was a pretty nifty Pokémon and I thought it was a great addition to the team other than ashes pikachu, squirtle, bulbasaur, & charazard! Good times. Maybe someday ash will see his pidgeot again you just never know. 😊

In Sun and Moon's kanto episodes there is a Pidgeot seen with a couple Pidgeotto. Could be Ash's on patrol with a couple buddies.

Also rewatched season one this week. During the Pokémon Tech episode the kid running the threadmill said Pidgey learns whirlwind or gust at a certain level and evolves at another level. The Pidgey that Ash tried to capture knew gust or whirlwind attack haha in the first episode. Two days later Ash finds a Pidgeotto haha so who knows maybe

I think they consider the game mechanics and stats more in the early anime. So they had a regional bug and flying added to the team but both were sidelined quickly once the stronger options joined the team. For the same reason they also didn't give them chances to shine unlike later flying types. In Kanto Ash had 4 pokemon (5 after snorlax) and some side pieces who were utility or comic relief and had one episode of glory than was forgotten in the case of Kingler

I think pigeot's reason not looking for Ash is because he doesn't know where to track him I mean Ash travels regularly and it's gonna just be a wild goose chase unless he just goes back to Professor Oaks lab

It would be cool to see it again. Just about everything he has had has made a comeback in some form or fashion with few exceptions. I think the reason as to why they've gone out of their way to steer clear of Pidgeot is because it has been superseded by new Pokemon in Ash's roster. Not saying they are better than Pidgeot but they do loan themselves to more situations than what Pidgeot does at this day and age. Anyway. Hope he does make an appearance soon. Even as a character of the day.

It was nice seeing Ash reunite with his original flying type Pokémon in the final episode of Ash’s journey in the anime; after 8 Pokémon leagues including the battle frontier and orange islands, numerous gym battles and hundreds of times defeating team rocket, Ash reunited with Pidgeott and kept his promise after winning the world coronation and became world champion.

Ash did'nt want to battle with two Pokemon at once because Double Battles were'nt a thing back then. It was introduced in Gen 3.

Honestly I didn't like how Ash said, "You stay here for a while to make sure that fearow doesn't come back, I promise I'll get you soon" I really didn't like how he left and never came back.
