profinet is right approach for PLC-to-PLC communication, because speed is good & respond time is good.

For the purpose of communication between Two PLCs, there is a RS485 Cable which is suitable for the Physical layer for the communication protocol (Profibus)

We should use prifinet cable because its speed is higher than profibus and here distance is less.

Firstly, It will depend on Baud Rate. Secondly, if Our PLC are on Long distance Means larger than 100 meter we'll prefer Profibus if plc are placed in short distance small than 100 meter then we'll pursue the Profinet Cable.
