The ProForm 750R features a 5” high-contrast display console, but it also has a tablet holder with an adjustable clip that lifts out of the top of the console to hold an iFit compatible tablet. For a more strenuous workout just raise the frame on the back so you have to push your body weight upwards. Make sure you secure the front wheels, so the machine stays put.

After watching your reviews on similar rowers I decided on this one. Picked one up from Walmart on clearance for $497. Easy assembly and it does what I need. I’m seriously out of shape so I haven’t tested the resistance to it’s limits. It folds up for easy storage also. My only gripe is that the speakers are terrible, even at max volume I can barely hear the IFIT trainer. Other than that I’m happy with my purchase. Definitely saved some money by purchasing this rower. 👍🏾

Excellent review. I'm considering to purchase it but I'm a bit concerned about how much would it last cause I'm planning to use it every day cause I wanna switch from treadmills to rowing for my cardio trainings. I've heard most of the times these machines are for casual users. Has someone used it for a while and share their insights with me? Thx!

I must have a previous version of the 750R because my console doesn't have built-in workouts, the Start/Stop buttons, or the iPad/iPhone holder on the top. Other than that the machine it self seems to be identical.

I see you reviewed the Nordic track 500rw as well - which stands out to you? They are very similar. Which is better for someone like me that is new to rowing but wants a good workout?

I love your review video! Question, Level 24 resistance on the 750R is comparable to which level resistance on the Concept 2?

Good question. The 750R rower has a respectable max resistance - it's on par with midrange on the C2. They're hard to compare directly though because the 750R has preset resistance levels and the C2 doesn't - it's an air rower, so the harder you pull, the more resistance is generated. One reason people like the C2 rowers is because they have "unlimited resistance." A strong, CrossFit athlete can be challenged by the C2 as much as a person who is new to rowing. The advantage of the 750R is you have those preset resistance levels, so you can find and maintain the same resistance each time you row.

It won't sync with another app as far as synching the metrics - but you could certainly watch any app you want on a tablet while the digital console records your rowing metrics.

The knob on the side of the console arm allows the console to drop down so it rests on the neck of the rower, however it doesn't fold flat.

Do you find that lag resistance in the fabric strap with each row annoying?

Yes it is slightly annoying but most beginning rowers won't notice it. If you're more advanced we would recommend checking out the Concept2, AssaultRower or Hydrow.

About those footboards: based on the video, it looks like they don't really pivot - at least not the way something like the Sunny Fitness models footboards pivot, where the entire footboard rotates through a much larger sweep.The Proform site also claims they pivot, but, again, based on this video they seem fairly fixed. I'd prefer fixed (I think), but would like to know in advance. Thanks.

These footboards are fixed and don't pivot the way some of the rowers at Sunny Health & Fitness do. These pedals allow you to lift your heels in the catch if they naturally lift for you when you're in that position. My heels naturally lift a little in the catch. The footboards however are fixed to allow you to really push through your legs.

Unfortunately, it doesn't presently have the ability to connect to a TV app.

I bought and returned a 750R, I had the model with grey legs, It did NOT have any free pre-programmed workouts. The resistance was jerky and not fluid.

Can this rower broadcast data for tracking through a Garmin watch for example?

We haven't been able to get the ProForm to connect with a smartwatch. But, depending on the program, sometimes you can sync your iFit with a 3rd party app.

I have rowed for 18 year's very successful career. I love your review butt for a woman even myself the 24 restance is more than enough. Rowing is a HIT workout do that 24 restance man or woman on a 10k aim for under 30 min. And if your not dead at the end your better than me. So go join the Olympics.

Totally agree with your points there. All we were saying in this review is that there are other rowers (C2, Hydrow, etc.) that offer more resistance than this machine. Yes 24 levels of resistance for a 10k is more than enough but for a 30 second sprint, we found that the highest level of resistance on this machine might not be enough resistance for some users. I appreciate your insight and hope that this adds some clarity. Thanks!

What tablet did you use for this demo? My tablet turns on/off because the buttons keep touching the console. It's very frustrating... 🙄

Agree. You have to add a shim of some sort so the buttons aren't pressed. Crazy design.

@@ritzenhauf My husband did just that for me to be able to use the app and be able to see it on the full screen instead of pushing it half out so the console wouldn't touch the on/off buttons.
