Yes same situation with my car. If no other problem with car then buy a new battery cell for your fob key and follow the instructions explained in video. Pls don't ask me to write every step. There are people who learn from one time explaining and there are others who need writing step and then assistance aswell

I guess buy genuine another one. Follow these steps. But if you r in Pakistan. the car mechanics are well cheap. Follow their guidelines.

Hi David. I appreciate your interest. When I made the video the car worth £8000. I didn't want to mess about with programming again. When I did first it worked. So when I made the video I try to show as much as I can but for sure I didn't to mess with programming again. Back in 2016, car mechanics use to charge £400-£500 to reprogramme the key. So I thought its over charge and try to help people with some solutions. I know the process is tricky and difficult but it worked for me. If it's too difficult for you. U can go to mechanic. I think the car is old fashioned now and the reprogramming the key would be a lot cheaper now. Best of luck

This method may not work for a used fob here's why...the original fob(s) for your vehicle came pre-programmed for your specific car from the dealership. The key recognition system can program a total of only 5 keys....ever. So, if you buy a used fob, there is really no way of knowing if it is key number 6, a factory reject, or a whole slew of other issues. Also, in order to program another fob, for a 2005 Prius (I know this from first hand experience) you must...must ..must..have an original fob (because, in addition to the (chicken dance) method, which gives you vehicle start capability...you must press and hold "lock" and "unlock" keys together on the old fob in order to sync a new fob door functions....which is impossible if you do not currently have an original (old) fob). This information came from the Toyota Prius help chat website.

The fob key need to be genuine Toyota. If u read my video description and first comment before you say it won't work. Means eiter your fob isn't genuine or you are missing any thing. If doesn't work. Pls don't waste ur time and go to mechanic.

@@uzair830 I have a guy who is trying to program by himself a used remote (not sure it is OEM or aftermarket) for his 2002 Toyota. So from what I am reading, a used remote has to be OEM , not aftermarket or else it will not work correct?
