I've lived in Progreso five years and just found your video. Progreso has just been awarded a Guiness World Record for the longest pier in the world at 8 km! I love Salmas. Hitting the museum allowed you to learn a lot about where I live. Eladio's beer prices are some of the highest in town, that's why they can give you so much free food. There are places in town where you can get a beer for a third of the price they charge. I'm not trashing on them, I enjoy going there, just letting you know. HAHAHAHA, that was my friend Ed outside Zulu restaurant! And then you sat, and he's right behind you. I love ship days for people watching. Vistamar, I'm part of a group that goes weekly. The name of the waiter at 17.26 is Kiki. You did a good job on this video. If you're still in the area you should come back to the beach in Progeso on a Sunday afternoon during summer vacation. You won't believe the difference! - Anne

Interesting about the 4 mile pier. I didn't realise the waters in the gulf were shallow. Also the Cenotes caused by meteorite. Great murals and music 🎵🎺🙂🍻🍹🌴

Yes Progreso is the the closest Beach. If the beach was closer I think we would move to Merida. But I really like having the water close 😃🏖

we ate at eladio too at end of Dec 2019 - loved that restaurant! My son was 15 at that time and the waiter asked him what he wants to drink and my son jokingly said a mojito - and he actually got one!!! I actually ended up drinking it, but yeah, we had stories to tell after that :)... brought a lot of food back to Merida that day cause of all the free stuff they give you.

Did you buy a car in Mexico or just rent one when you need one? How is it driving around in Mexico?

We have not bought a car yet. We rent one for the longer trips. Driving in Mexico is a little tricky but doable. Watch out for the speed bumps (topes) and the scooters.
