In point of fact, Jimmy Carter was not the "threat". The threat was from the Southern Baptist Conference. When Jimmy was elected, I began hearing about how a woman should obey her husband, etc. I was a very young woman, more girl really, and I was floored by the language, obey, do what we are told, it all blew my mind. This was not done by Jimmy or with his permission. He was and remains a very lovely and decent human.

I agree... That's the real question!! I love both of those incredible mythologies and am old enough to have seen them on tv and at the theater when they first aired... I am a true Star Wars fanatic with stuff from 1977 all over my 3 story house.... But I don't want to vote for Darth Vader or the Emperor here in our galaxy!! Vader is meant to show us how horrible it is to fall prey to our fears and how important it is to confront our dark side impulses... So I'd rather live Star Trek's more optimistic view of the world (I'll miss my favorite droids though 😂) please don't let our democracy die to the sound of thunderous applause!
