Just took out my engine + transmission today, was pretty easy. Similar set up with the quickjacks and the angle bar thingy. It really wasn't that hard, I think it took us longer to remove the transmission because it got stuck so we just hit out the cotter pin on the fork to disengage it. I'll be honest though I've been going thru all your videos for weeks and completely forgot to rewatch this haha.

I just changed the clutch out on mine last weekend so I feel your pain. So frustrating! When it comes time to pull my engine I am dropping it from the bottom w/the trans. Good video as always!

Thank you Chris. If I had a 2 post lift, I would have dropped the subframe and engine that way too. One day maybe I'll have enough space for a lift lol

This was awesome man. One of the few step by steps for removing the engine in this car. Fav part was where you said "fuck" because I've never heard you say that in all the time I've known you ROFL.

everything about working on the GTR is frustrating, those stupid front turbo drain bolts that are juuuuuust offset enough from the bottom to need a swivel, in an area where there's no room. ugh.

Goodezilla, Awesome editing job... really loved the time-lapse and voice-over technique! Your way of thinking is similar to mine on the labeling of everything (connector, hoses, etc.) It may be a little more work on the front end, but it'll pay off when it all goes back together. Later you'll forget some of the little things you thought you'd remember. I bet you'll even reference certain portions of your videos to remind you how something goes back together. Looking good man! As some of my other favorite KZfaq guys might say, #pulloutgamestrong . 😂 The only thing you should have done was a before and after photo of your hands. All the cuts, nicks, scrapes, and bruises are always fun to reflect on. haha. Love your photos and videos, man! Have a great weekend!

what i did for the front prop shaft bolts : one side has cuts that holds the bolts. and the other side you can actually get the closed end of the wrench on it..if you take a grinder to the outside of the edge on the closed end. so that it fits perfectly. itl cost you one wrench. but very wurth it. saved me heaps of greief :)

Yeah now that I think about it...I probably only tried to torque off one side...should have drive the other :( oh well haha...it's over with...now when I have to tighten them back on, we'll see!

I actually don't have coilovers, they are Kei Office adjustable shocks and some brand of lower springs. Came that way from Japan. I plan to get some nice coilovers down the road.

Love these types of videos! Mucho props for Diying your R32! I would imagine 25 year old rubber hoses on barbed fittings will not want to come off! Are you also going to mod the stock oil pump to an N1 pump?

Thank you! I have all new silicone hoses for the engine bay. I'm doing a N1 pump with Supertec Racing Spline Drive oil gears.

i'm not sure about the GTR but for the top two bell housing bolts i lowered the gearbox on my rb25det skyline and use a really long 1/2 socket extension to reach them from underneath the car.

If you want to know a little tip for next time because you be taking it out the engine again drop trans down little bit just unbolt cross member and the engine tilt back and you'll get easy access to the bolts

I am halfway through a turbo change over on my 33 gtr(putting bigger twins back in)and what a pain! But would you say the engine removal is worse than turbo removal? I have my stock ceramics out, now just got to back new 2860s in. Im guessing youre removing the engine to install sump baffling etc in as well?

Anthony Flood I'd say that removing the engine is much more involved, but removing the twins is more tedious with the motor in the car. Yes I'm doing sump baffle and N1 oil pump spline drive kit from Supertec Racing.

awesome video, in the process of removing my engine. Do you think it will be possible to move the car once the engine is out, with the transmission still in? i was thinking i might be able to put my strut bar back in and use a strap around the transmission or something... any thoughts?

Thank you man. Yeah My buddy with a gtst has moved his car with the trans still in. He used a ratchet strap under the transmission and it goes to the fender wells. He has his front fenders removed though.

Best way to drop the motor out from underneath. Pull the motor trans and subframe as one piece.

that prop shaft is a pain in the ass ay! the casting doesn't allow the spanner ring on fully! and i had a hoist! doing it on your back would've sucked!

in case you only want to replace clutch in R32 gtr, you need to remove the engine? or you can only remove the tranny? pleese keep us posted with the engine work!!

Yup, 600hp...hence the title haha...but yeah. Doing e85 and more boost, so just doing the supporting mods. Engine out for oil pump and spline drive kit for oil pump.

This is the way I've always removed the rbs from my r33 and the latest bring my r32. Good work and videos by the way ! Why are you removing the engine ? Upgrading ?

Had to remove the engine to remove the crank to machine on the spline drive for the oil pump. And to replace the oil pump with a N1 pump.

There are hoist attachments you can get that bolt to the head.

Because the housings are too big to get to all the nuts/bolts. So I have to put them on and take them off that way.

Winter Upgrades! Main reason is Supertec Racing Spline drive oil pump gears and N1 pump is why the engine pull.

also with the top bolts use the super long ½ in. extension, with swivel sockets and it's easier.... you got this

NISMOLOGY INC. Yeah we used 3 feet of extensions to get my brother on laws motor out. Much easier lol.
