Yea, was surprised as well, somehow the YT algorithm did not bless this video at all. Kinda surprising since my last PC build I did before that is one of my most viewed videos ever...

@@DarkArtGuitars I see man. It's hard to say why exactly. It's a shame though. Your other build inspired me to get an Ender 3 and print a case. I want to 3D model it too look like an a computer from the 70's or 80's. Not replicating anything exact, but i will be taking a lot of inspiration from them.

Holyyyyy, I just discovered your channel yesterday whilst looking into making my own keeb. And WOW, you are amazing: you deserve way more subs and views - keep being awesome. My current goal is to use my Arduino Uno (from school) and my 3D printer to make a hand-wired keyboard. Maybe I'm biting off more than I can chew, but I think with your videos and other documentation I will be in good standings.

Awesome! The uno won't work for a keyboard though, as it does not have an integrated USB controller on the main micro controller. You need either a Leonardo, Micro, or Pro Micro (all the ones with the ATmega32U4)

@@DarkArtGuitars I have heard that it actually *should* work with a genuine Arduino Uno (which my cousin has, mine was a remake and couldn't be flashed). The Uno has an ATmega16U2 and can be flashed with a hex file to become an HID device. I've played with this a bit, and it seems feasible; however, I may just use a Teensy because it is easier/smaller/more-pins.

@@JP-zt3xx It's not about being genuine or not, but about the physical chip used. The Uno uses a separate USB controller from the micro controller that does not support the keyboard library. You can also check the page on the arduino site for the keyboard library and it will tell you exactly which boards it is compatible with.

@@DarkArtGuitars Yes, that makes sense. I had one 'Arduino' that I could not flash, since it would not go into DFU mode. The other Arduino from my cousin did go into DFU, and I was able to flash it back to Arduino's .hex afterwards. People like the guy in this video (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qtyhdJB7yLq1fps.html) seem to have gotten it to the point of it being an HID. But are you saying it wouldn't be able to work much better than that afterwards? I would think if you can get the uno to be an HID device, then it's just a matter of using a Matrix like with any other microcontroller. But I am new to this stuff, so maybe I am not understanding the whole keyboard libraries issue. Cheers.
