On the streets of New Orleans, word begins to spread about a mysterious new pill that unlocks superpowers unique to each user. The catch: You don’t know what will happen until you take it. While some develop bulletproof skin, invisibility, and super strength, others exhibit a deadlier reaction. But when the pill escalates crime within the city to dangerous levels, a local cop (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) teams with a teenage dealer (Dominique Fishback) and a former soldier fueled by a secret vendetta (Jamie Foxx) to fight power with power and risk taking the pill in order to track down and stop the group responsible for creating it.

I feel compelled to mention: this was the screenwriter's first script that resulted in a high-budget film, and he has co-written the script for the next Batman movie. He also made a bunch of short films and wrote and directed two low-budget feature films that seem decent

I remember hearing or reading somewhere that Netflix pretty much had all their 2020 content filmed before the shutdown and since post-production and editing can be remotely or at home, they have enough new content for the entire year. They have a few higher-profile “Oscar” movies coming out this fall as well still. Next year might be a different story though, once they run low on new shows and movies.

Apparently Netflix already has enough finished content and post-production stocked up that they are good for the rest of the year and a good chunk of 2021. They could literally ride out the entire pandemic and at worst only have to slow down their release cadence a bit.

@@rell127 They said they have a lot of 2021 already filmed on their investor call. If they even halved the release cadence they are doing right now next year, it'd still be way better than their competitors. Keep in mind, they're currently releasing something new almost every day of the month, and August is shaping up to be the same. Even a third of the content every month would still be enough for most people to stay subscribed. Also, they're apparently already filming some international content again. So while Hollywood productions are on hold, they can still get content from elsewhere.

I just received this movie " Project Power " on Netflix UK during the weekend (15/08/2020) & as per my normal process of determining whether i'll watch any particular movie I will only read the brief premise on the Netflix folder that any of these movies are in & i won't watch any of the trailers... Jamie Fox & Joseph Gordon-Levitt gave their usual professional & polished performances but it was the young actress Dominique Fishback that put in a great performance for a young actress I haven't seen before & I did enjoy this movie... If you like movies with a sc-fi element, mixed with brutal, at times, action scenes then this movie is for you & worth watching... If you don't have Netflix then pick it up once its released on DVD & Blu Ray, but the decision is yours as this is my opinion on this movie... In light of the still ongoing coronavirus stay safe and healthy wherever you are in the world... .....

The best movies Netflix has are licensed. This movie looks great, but they're definitely not going to be the end of theatres as long as they push towards a specific young adult genre. Not saying this movie isyoung adult, but most Netflix OC is.
