I normally play this game a bunch on Twitch and I Thought it would be fun to start a longplay where I share a bunch of tips and tricks. Playing Vanilla Apocalypse and starting in Riverside :D / ottosthename

I've just finished part 15 and came back here to thank you Otto! It's the most complete and useful series I've come across on the subject. Such good explanations and attention to details, that's so helpful. Especially a bunch of little things that you can otherwise learn only by playing the game for a really long time. Would love to see more :)

Currently been playing 50hrs or so & Im having trouble getting myself to live a week! I get & understand how to survive, but man i just cant seem to cope well under immense amounts of pressure, from MOBS of darn zombies. But this... This already gives me info that I can easily understand & implement said info asap... So for those that are still having issue living past a month can learn PLENTY from this wise Man.

The way you set up your character is really OP. I was wondering why it's so much harder for me

Excellent series. I've watched many 100 day videos that had interesting stories, but your videos were quite helpful with hockey's and overall strategy and tactics. Many thanks.

Awesome video man! Very helpful as I’m brand new to the game, moved over from Dayz for a change of scenery. Will continue watching this series. Thanks for the content!

Very helpful video, thank you! Most tips-and-tricks videos on KZfaq are very basic 101 - which are not very helpful except for completely new players! I would appreciate more on-depth tips/guide!

Appreciate that! I guess most people try to make shorter video's which is understandable... But there is so much to learn :D

Thanks for holding my hand through my first few days in Pz! 😅 The controls feel wonky, but I know I'll get used to them eventually.

been playin for a little bit, browsing the corpses and containers was hell, i figured scrolling on the column of containers tabulated between them but shift scroll anywhere is so much better holy hell

I’m at the point where I can survive long enough to get cocky when there’s one zombie lol. That’s always how I get bit too haha 😅

Hahah very relatable. Complacency is the biggest killer. Also trees. And doors. And ya know, zombies.

So far the only difference with Conspicuous and Inconspicuous is that slow turn look over the shoulder animation happening more often, or less often. So my guess is it makes you less noticable so it has to identify longer before attack. About a half a second, if that of difference.

As you said, conspicuous is free points

Great video. I have to say though I checked whether this was a beginner guide when you engaged about 5 zombies at 19:00 For beginners: don't do this :-)

Yeah you bring up a good point. If they form a really nice Conga line it might be fine, but ideally your probably want to start with just one or two.

Do yourself a favor and play your first game on custom sandbox, with the difficultly lowered and the loot jacked up. You need a feel for the game before you try to really play it as God intended.

I already have 90 hours in the past 2-3 weeks lol! It's that amazing man(s) and women(s)! It seriously tell you : "This is how you died" - by fightning way too much zombies at a time, by going into the house that decide to turn on the alarm, by entering the vehicle that also enabled car alarm, or looting nearby shops without checking the surroundings, or you know..thinking that your car is unstopable beast and absolute end game "weapon" to drive into group/small horde of zombies. :D PS : Disable zombie respawning everyone! zombies aren't jesus..they're just..zombies you know, once coming from the grave, return them to the grave, lol.

fast-forwarding time only works in single player. i dont bother with wakeful or fast learner, if you plan on playing for a long time. you can spend a whole real life day leveling skills- you got plenty of time. but thats just me.
@OttosTheName3 ай бұрын
Yeah, makes sense. It probably makes more sense to get stuff that helps in the long run than to get perks that mostly help early game. I'm not a patient man though :P

Hey but what about mods? How to beggin moding?
@OttosTheName3 ай бұрын
I do want to make a video about how to mod, how to add mods to existing games, where to get, which I recommend, etc. It's a bit much to type out. What I can tell you is the Steam Workshop has almost all mods, it auto-updates and if you go into the main menu of the game you can turn on mods. These mods will automatically be added to any new run you start :D

My question for opinion is: Is underweight worth capping your strength at 9?
@OttosTheName21 күн бұрын
It's only temporary. Once your weight is back to normal your character gains the strength.

can this game handle fine on a laptop?
@RADARTechie26 күн бұрын
Turn off blood in the settings to help. It apparently bogs down the game if there's a lot of blood rendered everywhere
@OttosTheName21 күн бұрын
It's not too bad on low end hardware. If you could list your specs I can give you a better estimation

Otto what about life and living Tv? you're missing a lot of free XP buddy!
@OttosTheNameАй бұрын
I do try to watch TV where I can if I have the XP boost from skill books. But if I don't have the books there's no point IMO. I think it's like 50 xp per show or so. But the first book gives a 3x multiplier, second one 5x, third 8x. Having to stop fighting/looting, going home, sitting still for a chunk of XP that's not even being multiplied is a big time investment for a small payout if you ask me. I also focused on it a bit less just to get fast progress in this series. If you can get to a school or a book store while the TV is still on and you can read some skillbooks it's great though!
