On a second note. There should be a mod that lets you play as a zed. 1. Make moans to 'tell' other zed that something is happening. 2. Cannibalize to keep yourself from rotting? 3. Eventually can upgrade to sprinter? 4. Lead hoards to bases? Just some food for thought you modders out there ;)

I would expect a ton of zombies to be either naked or in PJs since a lot of people will just wake up to zombies pounding down the door at 2AM. Also, no hospital zombies? I imagine a ton would have died and reanimated while under medical treatment too

When I used this mod I just had like 10 survivors in a house all with guns out just shouting "get out" at each other

To those interested in this mod, it has been updated to "Superb Survivors!" for build 41

You can press the "U" key to reload despawned survivors. They seem to sometimes despawn when you leave the chunk that they are in, or if you change the name of your save file directory. If you change the name of your save you cant reload survivors unless you also change the name of your survior-save in the superb survivors directory

You could try with a spectator mode (I think theres a mod for it) that way you could travel faster and those kind of things, to focus more on what they do

If you ever wanna try recreate this, I think the god mod/cheat mod on Steam has both no-clip and ghost mode, allowing you to objectively observe without dying or being zombie bait. Plus, you can build items and start fires, allowing you to invent situations to play with. It's hopefully updated to the recent release. Figured I'd mention it cos I love lab rat things like this.

Try doing a civil war with a clan of survivors of yours against a raider event horde, you can also use that feature to do some base defending against raiders, you can also set raiders to spawn normally like normal survivors, the only difference is that they are hostile, and things are even more fun if they got a firearm. Beware though, survivors have a outstanding accuracy, even better than a player lvl 10 aiming skill.

I've wanted to try this. I didn't actually come to realize that could *start* with no zombies then have zombies slowly spawn. That would be a great way to simulate an outbreak situation.

So funny thing, my grandmother’s name is Paula and she is literally exactly the same as her in-game counterpart. She drinks red wine every day, is in *insane* shape, and loves to tell everyone the story of how she almost killed my grandpa, giggling happily the whole time. She’s one of my favorite people in the world and I loved seeing her beat the zombie apocalypse without breaking a sweat

This would make such a reat gamemode. Hold out for as long as possible on a map thats constantly being flooded by enemies but also with extremely limited resources. The only tweak would be encouraging PVP and factionalization, imagine trying to draw the horde near your enemies base and the such

I always liked the mod in previous versions, except the meat grinder enemy npcs. You had to be on meth to be able to counter their raids reaction time

I feel the survivors shouldn't automatically follow you when you're nearby. Maybe an option on click to shout to follow you and all nearby survivors follow, but really you can have a lot of options if you could get survivors working on their own.

I want to use this mod so bad but back when I used it, the NPCs would stop being functional after a while and when they're attacked, they never die.. they're like a Everlasting Shawarma that zombies just swarmed around. In about 20 years when the game fully releases, this mod will be perfected

I played with this mod and at the logging company, they barricaded every window in the lower two buildings. My "Home" is the upper most warehouse. I haven't seen them since, but it was nice of them to do so for me.

When non-zombie NPCs existed. Those were the days. I get these are from a mod, but prior these non-zombie NPCs would be psycho. I really hope they don't just release the game as finished without putting in the non-zombie npc groups they envisioned. I've play enough of this game solo and with another person to now want the one thing to make this game interesting again. Also, zombies spawning in at the edges of the map sounds superb to have. Breaks immersion having cleared a spot only to have the whole place swarmed again magically. I get this video is old, but my playthru was around this time, (without mods) and solo very early where the map was tiny and non-zombie NPCs roamed about. Rather than a massive empty world, I would have preferred a barricaded in sizable town, just to cut down on their development time. They could easily have made the map bigger once everything else was in place.

id love to see a rts mod that lets me control all of the survivors. Maybe you could also take control of each survivor similar to vanilla

i keep pulling the The Aschen move..I bury the whole civilization, and then make it all farmland. The only flaw is zombies keep spawning under the new area, and will crash the map over time

hey have you had a problem with the superb survivors mod when you kill an NPC, you save and exit the game and come back to play the next day and the same NPC you killed is there again?

paula's my girl, for sure lol. She's doing exactly what my gf and I say we would probably do: Board up the house, grab as many supplies as possible, food for our cat, some boxes of wine, and wait for the end or help to arrive.

Not sure if you've already done this, don't think you have, but you should do a challenge where all zombies in like a 300 tile radius are constantly aggroed on you, thus never allowing you to stop moving.

I wish there was a game like this but in reverse where the city is full of people and YOU cause the zombie apocalypse by deciding how you start the outbreak.. I hate that the only games where you control zombies & zombie hordes are either cartoony "I want your brains" bs, shooters/pvps or plague inc It's crazy that NOBODY has done this yet... there was ONE game I saw on Steam that was doing this but it was abandoned It would be awesome to have a Resident Evil Outbreak Simulator where you could be either Umbrella or Survivors+RCPD

Weird.. I’ve never seen the NPCs talk to each other, and mine can’t seem to kill anything. Their attacks don’t hit the zombies. I have to protect them all the time. It’s weird..

I don't know if you read these comments anymore and I've yet to snag a copy of Project Zomboid so I apologize if this is a little weird. Why don't you do this again sometime? It's nearly been two years and I'm sure the mod has been updated majorly since this run. Also why not cheat? It'd give you ample opportunities to be a looming deity just watching the fates of these survivors play out. In fact in doing just a little digging on the workshop I found a handful of cheat mods which would make this experience far easier! Just some of my thoughts, hope this comment finds you well and that you may consider it. I know I'd love to see it, if you were to repeat this experiment under better and easier circumstances. Edit: I didn't notice you had already done this, nevermind lmao

Dude, you say often that you "aren't very good at this game" but honestly, I'd speculate that you might be in the top players of it. You're extremely good at it, to the point where you can mod it out like this and manage to survive any situation you put yourself into... I'm legitimately not very good at it. I don't think I've survived longer than 4 days in the latest version of it... actually since probably V4, I haven't really managed to live very long. I hope to someday be even 1/10th as good at playing it as you are.
