Lettuce, spinach, chard and kale grow really well in partial sun- I grew several varieties of lettuce in containers on my balcony with great success and little space- Good luck with your garden!

You explain how to grow things what happens what can happen etc. I like the fact you have recipes, things about health, amazon recommendation page, building things from pallets, health things you have it all. You have a wonderful cheery personality and it’s nice to hear you help out grandad. I’m in USA New York and plan to grow things this year and I found your videos so entertaining. Loved the zinc videos about foods. Ppl often don’t know about plastic or chemical leeching and they don’t always know what value good food is proper. Thank you

You really are fabulous - even though the weather in sunny Brisbane, Australia is different, so much of the information you provide is relevant and usable. Well done! My entire vegetable garden is in containers thanks to the invasive roots of my neighbour's trees so this particular video is super relevant. My best carrot crops have been in simple rectangular tubs. Your info about mixing sand in with the potting mix was great. Thanks for all your great work (please send some of your rain to us!)

I love your positive spirit. Thanks for all the great information. I am a novice gardener and still experimenting but I managed to get a fairly good harvest last year from my container garden. I was getting some great cucumbers and courgettes from my plants until they contracted powdery mildew and then everything went downhill. I got great tomatoes but after some time they started turning black before they ripened. any ideas on this? I have only just sown my seeds for this year so I am waiting for results. Keep up the great work.

I want to try to grow carrots as I love carrot! So when you uploaded this I was so happy! It will be really helpful, thank you! Also, I love your gardening video more than other channel! Don't know why but yours is really relaxing to watch for me! But before I grow carrots from seed, I want to try an experiment if I can get seeds from carrot tops, then plant those seeds. If that's a fail, maybe I just buy seeds online then haha

I'm glad you like my video. I hope you do well growing Carrots at home. It's very unlikely that you'll get a Carrot top to bolt and produce seeds so it may be better just to buy them so you know which variety you are growing. Good luck! :)

Project Diaries what if you use more then the top of the carrot like half a cartoon or the whole carrot, I mean they shouldnt be harmed by being in the fridge as the carrot are growing the root he first year and then flowers the next at least thats how they do it where I live Anyway the more of the carrot you use for this experiment the more likely you are gonna get flowers and buds I think.

For real, THANK YOU for that plastic tip. I see so many plastic projects for the garden, but I had no idea you needed to use specific stuff. I made a watering can and I cut up a bunch of plastic specifically for gardening, and thank god I haven't used them yet! EDIT: Turns out, they're all okay! :D

Beth, please do try to grow what you can. Carrots, Irish potatoes, turnips, and parsnips are not too hard for root crops.
