Hi this is my take on a homemade table saw, router table and inverted jigsaw, I built all 3 into the same table to save on space
I am very pleased with the results and would recommend making one yourself
The table top is 100cm by 80cm, I didn’t use any specific measurements for the box I just built it round the tools. The tools I used are a Black and Decker circular saw KS64, a Bosch router POF 500A, and a Black and Decker jigsaw KS 633E
During the build and filming allot of the cutting gluing and general preparation was done off camera to speed up the video
00:00 Intro
00:27 Starting the build
01:48 Building the main box
02:51 Fitting flush rulers
04:40 Fitting the inverted jigsaw
06:13 Fitting the router
08:57 Sorting out the electrics
09:54 Making the internal storage compartments
10:43 Making the fence and runners
12:10 Fitting the fence
14:25 Testing

this is exactly what i was looking for. have limited space and a lot of things im trying to build. had a look at some ready made tables but none had what i needed so decided to look on KZfaq to see what others had come up with. This is perfect. thank you so much for sharing this.Cheers mate from Australia.

Brilliant! This is the way all KZfaq videos should be made. A fantastic product which is introduced at the start to show what the finished product looks like without 10 minutes of useless, preamble chat and making you sit through a 20 minute video before you find out what is being made. Some great ideas and techniques, loved every minute of it. 👍👍👍

Well done to you sir -- this is the first sensible built table that clearly displays an emergency switch isolator and a guard on the saw blade -- you clearly have displayed a good grounded knowledge of health and safety to show others how to build a safe work table -- Well done !!!! Have you seen some of the builds on youtube by complete novice DIY builders designing positively dangerous ideas of how to utilise old tools . Then the people watching go and build one having been shown no safety aspect integrated into the design .-- THIS is a great table and you have clearly displayed Health and Safety

Not criticizing, but wouldn't it have been easier to just cut all of the metal plates to the same size (the size of the largest one needed) and then you could drop in whatever tool you needed and secure it with it's matching plate? Just seems that would be a bit easier.

projectmayhemUK It might be more convenient if you can arrange some plastic waste pipe on the inside, with openings close to the respective blades, that a vacuum cleaner can be connected to. Otherwise, its a very neat and well organised job. Another improvement, could be a folding trestle stand, as the workmate looks a little overwhelmed. I did something similar for my chop-saw as it became inconvenient to rescue my workmate from under it whenever I needed it for a job. Two legs attached to a board, connected to another pair with hinged boards, would work, but I made mine fixed, as I have loads of room in my barn, and can leave it permanently assembled. Where in the UK are you?
@homayoonhakimi533
@homayoonhakimi533 8 жыл бұрын
As this is an enclosed boxed any kind of vacuum would suck out everything. You have done such a beautiful job, why not apply a vacuum cleaner to it? As a matter of fact it would clean more than regular table saw. Amazing job you have done sir. Hats off.

+niklar55 You have some good suggestions, I am from Yorkshire
@niklar55
@niklar55 8 жыл бұрын
+projectmayhemUK Hi! I have a long time mate, lives in Sheffield, so have visited Yorkshire many times. I'm qualified as an engineer, but worked as a builder for 25-30 years, so I'm quite good at finding lazy ways to do things, and brushing out a box frequently would tend to become a bit of a bore. I have a vacuum chip collector, and it can fill a 100 liter bag during a days work, so the box you have, would need cleaning out fairly frequently, if you did much work with it. I have a friend who provides the bags, and then collects the full bags for filling pet poop trays, and similar, so if you have pets, or neighbours that have pets, it could be a good way of disposing of your chips and dust usefully. You could also make two pairs of legs, attached to the underside of your box with hinges, so that they fold flat underneath the box Regards nik.

It was straight where it needed to be. The dog leg at the end did look a bit disconcerting.

When it comes to building one of these in a video, the viewer should assume that the builder can build it perfectly given the free reign of time. No where in this build did I see "Come build this saw with me in less that 15 mins on your day off!" I surely couldn't build it any better in the same amount of time and I would feel rather idiotic once I realized I criticized him for making a crooked cut.....especially when I looked in my profile and saw that I've done NOTHING even close to this awesome build and then had 12 EFFING MILLION people view it! It's more about the process aka journey for the builder and all about the finished product for the viewer. And if you can criticize this guy, let us see YOUR work so WE can "cut" loose on ya after we "saw" your errors. LOL! #sarcasm #itsnot2020stillcalmdown #behappy #leave

Why can't you? Just lift the deck, make the adjustment on the saw and close it back up! I mean, it's not elegant but I don't think he was going for that. =)

There's an even easier way. I just cut a big hole on one side of the box. Then you can reach in and adjust it.

Depending on quality of plywood, 1 sheet, plus some pine or other hardwood. Use a clamped straight edge until you get the fence slide in

Very good concept but an absolute death trap. The e stop button is for illustrative purposes only and the full load of the tools is going through the e stop contacts which is bad practice. The lack of guards on this is also frightening. Say goodbye to your fingers.

I built this. But not only does mine not have a guard, my circular saw don't have a fin, and so my "table saw" don't have a riving knife! So I didn't bother making the fence. As you say, too dangerous to use. I love my fingers. Need them to type on computer keyboards and to play the piano :). I cut everything with a sled or some sort jig I made.

Was wondering about the gaurd on the circular saw, I think it would have worked ok if the gap for the blade had been made wide enough to allow gaurd movement.

He's got a riving knife on the saw. That's enough to guard against kickback. Fingers shouldn't be anywhere near the blade anyway.
