Since I compared the oscillators of the Minilogue and Minilogue XD I've had a few people ask for more comparison so that's exactly what we have here. Here I've setup all the logue range of synths from KORG with a very simple bass patch and compared the filter at 0% resonance and 50% resonance. Which one sounds best to you? Let me know in the comments.
All recorded and edited using Ableton Live and Hit Film Express.

Monologue.... it is just meaty . I have several synths but the output of this synth is, beyond comparison , just sick LOUD . No way you gonna find a full roundy sound as the monologue for less than 250 boxes. But never never!

I have the Monologue and the Minilogue XD ,The Monologue is hands down more aggressive & gritty, But that applies to most Monosynths The Monologue come close to the Moog sound as you can get!

Minilogue filter and especially resonance part is designed very differently than the other logues. Perhaps less ideal for large filter sweeps and more to get unique sounds with at more subtle sweeps. Also Minilogue 4-pole filter from what I can gauge from various videos might be more useful in Minilogue because of tendency of it to produce high pitched sounds with resonance while other logues seems to already do more lowpass filtering when engaging resonance. Out of presented synths I would not replace my Minilogue filter with anything but having switch to change filter to gritty deeper sounding Monologue filter would be pretty sweet!

They are all sounding great. After sellining a Matriarch, I bought a Monologue. I have to say that it is one of my best buys. Few money, great pleasure.

This was tough … I think, the Prologue’s filter sounds best (definitely smoothest); but the XD filter is just as good, maybe better!! (seems to rip a little harder!)… but I want all the resonance squelch of the OG Minilogue’s filter, too (and, more than that, its 4-pole mode)🥲 … Still, ❤️ XD & Prologue ❤ win, for mine. (Clearly, the Prologue and XD filters (and maybe Monologue’s too) are super similar, and it’s moreso their oscillators that are making them sound different 🤔). 🤷🏻‍♂️ - ie, the monologue filter sounds rougher, maybe, but that is actually due to the design/tuning of its MONOSYNTH oscillators, versus those designed for the others (all POLYSYNTH) … ?

The OG and the Prologue sound quite different and for me, the most pleasing. Monologue never interested me and the xd I sold because it didn't sound right to my ears.

Hey, thanks so much for dropping by. The OG and Prologue are both great, the drive on the filter of the Monologue can't be overlooked though, especially if you start getting in to squelchy 303 style stuff. 👍

I think the Minilogue loses a lot of low end when you crank the resonance but it's far more squelchy 👍 Thanks for dropping by 👍

Prologue is the smoothest, monologue is the most aggressive, the original mini sounds the worst, xd is in the middle.

I think the ‘aggressiveness of the monologue’s filter’, could actually be due to the oscillators of a monosynth vs those of the polysynths … 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️ Monosynth oscillators are usually designed to have more heft, which can give the impression of a ‘more aggressive’ filter … ?

I have the Monologue and the Minilogue xd between the 2 ,I feel the Monologue filter is a bit more pronounced and aggressive! The XD is a bit aggressive but just tiny bit less than the Monologue, But Mono synths are known to be more gritty and aggressive.

Couple people had asked for comparison on the bass sounds with the filter as the last one I did a pad style sound but yeah there is better ways to show off a filter 👍👍

I like the original minilogue filter the best. The higher end squelch is really nice. I may have to pick up the OG…

Overall, the filters sounds ok, except in the lowmid....seems to be quite some phasing going on there, making it sound muddy.

never like a moog. Moog filters, just disappear in the nothing. Never got why moog are such a hype. I choose Monologue over Minitaur with no regrets.

For my money it's the Mono. Mono is super affordable now and treated in the right way with some post EQ and stuff you're going to appreciate the extra cash in your pocket to get your music out there. Or buy coffee, lots of coffee 😂👍

I got both minilogue xd and monologue, the minilogue xd's filter is pure shit compared to the monologue and same for the drive part.

The minilogue XD is a Hybrid Synth so don't lose sight of that, There will be some takeaways when dealing with Hybrid Synths! What it lacks in Filter,it gains with the oscillators 1 being digital and the User oscillators & fx are the shit! Using Logue SDK i have created many user fx and Oscillators!
