@@TheOceanBeneath Thanx, but what I ment was how do you use the record knob on the bass station and how do you play that recording back
@TheOceanBeneathАй бұрын
@@djghettofunk2530 No worries, if you look top left corner you'll see I have the record enabled from the beginning with the steps going up with every key press or click of the rest/legato buttons. When the phrase is complete and I want to playback switch from record to playback and enable arp/latch buttons then hit the the key of the first note for your sequence to play from there. Hope that better explains for you.

XD does sound ‘better’ to me (and pitch bends seem easier/smoother with the joystick) … but do miss both the sweep squelch and 4-pole option of the OG 😢 … Is that ‘squelchiness’ there in both filter modes … ? Cheers!
@TheOceanBeneath4 ай бұрын
Hey man, thanks so much for dropping by. The joystick is hands down the single feature that is 100% better than the original, not even up for deabte. The OG pitch bend is so clumsy in comparison.
@kierenmoore32364 ай бұрын
@@TheOceanBeneath Thanks for that! I’ve heard someone complaining that the joystick came off easily (I assume they meant the cap/perhaps it became threadbare)?

The OG and the Prologue sound quite different and for me, the most pleasing. Monologue never interested me and the xd I sold because it didn't sound right to my ears.
@TheOceanBeneath4 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks so much for dropping by. The OG and Prologue are both great, the drive on the filter of the Monologue can't be overlooked though, especially if you start getting in to squelchy 303 style stuff. 👍

This was tough … I think, the Prologue’s filter sounds best (definitely smoothest) … but I want all the resonance squelch of the OG Minilogue’s filter, too 🥲 … (I actually suspect that Prologue, Monologue & XD filters are probably super similar, and it’s moreso their oscillators that are making them sound different 🤔). 🤷🏻♂️ - ie, the monologue filter sounds rougher, maybe, but that is actually due to the design/tuning of its MONOSYNTH oscillators, versus those designed for the others (all POLYSYNTH) … ?

Minilogue filter and especially resonance part is designed very differently than the other logues. Perhaps less ideal for large filter sweeps and more to get unique sounds with at more subtle sweeps. Also Minilogue 4-pole filter from what I can gauge from various videos might be more useful in Minilogue because of tendency of it to produce high pitched sounds with resonance while other logues seems to already do more lowpass filtering when engaging resonance. Out of presented synths I would not replace my Minilogue filter with anything but having switch to change filter to gritty deeper sounding Monologue filter would be pretty sweet!

I think the ‘aggressiveness of the monologue’s filter’, could actually be due to the oscillators of a monosynth vs those of the polysynths … 🤔🤷🏻♂️ Monosynth oscillators are usually designed to have more heft, which can give the impression of a ‘more aggressive’ filter … ?

The minilogue XD is a Hybrid Synth so don't lose sight of that, There will be some takeaways when dealing with Hybrid Synths! What it lacks in Filter,it gains with the oscillators 1 being digital and the User oscillators & fx are the shit! Using Logue SDK i have created many user fx and Oscillators!
