Man, this is an excellent speculation. It's definitely possible. As a matter of fact, it would be great if the writers did indeed go that route. The only trick part is, how would she convince the doctors and nurses to lie for her. It would be natural for the family, i.e. Monet and Tariq to ask about the baby.

In a recent interview Diana says that the writers left her storyline open for her to come back. My theory on this is that salim is still alive and is going to become a witness to take down the tejadas and Tariq and she’s going to have to make a choice to get deeper in the game to or do what’s needed to do to save her family. I think that she tells salim that she’s pregnant and it’s his baby and they need to run away in order for them to have a good life and raise the baby. And no witness no case so everyone gets off.

I like your theory, however I think she will fake her death period to protect herself and the baby. Monet and Tariq was dressed in black and he look teary eyed as if attended a funeral.
