Real Madrid is the greatest institution in world football. I started following the club in 1992 when the team still had Prosinecki, Hagi, Hugo Sánchez, Ricardo Rocha (most underrated central defender of all time), Luis Henrique, Butragueño, Zamorano, etc. In 1994 I saw the arrival of the most underrated sportsman ever: Michael Laudrup. Since then, I have followed Real Madrid closely and can attest that with over 32 years of experience watching football in real time, no other team has maintained such consistency when it comes to playing the beautiful game.

It's not just tiki taka, but better IMO. Pure creativity, not along the lines of tactics but sheer creativity. How Real plays is more comparable to samba football of the Brazilians. High risk, high reward play. You can stop tiki taka with great tactics, but nobody stops this.

It’s not pure tiktaka but in my opinion it’s better, it’s more direct, more skills, more variety, I prefer to watch this style of play than today city who have too much possession .

Madrid has never played tiki taka. Tiki taka is based on short passes with possession. Madrid have always had players with great individual skill and physical presence so their football is more direct. Barcelona has players more technical and lesser in physicality and because of this they play tiki taka. Barca can’t rely on their physical size hence players rarely shoot outside box, cross and big weakness in their game is defending hence they maintain possession.

tiki taka is just a fancy term to describe the shitty football barca played, which is all about winning the possession, yes there were some nice goals - mainly because they had leo, but it is boring af most of the time. barca had games that they lost/draw with more than 80% possession. tiki taka is ugly football in my opinion. Madrid is all about being direct to the goal, with different strategies and styles and doing whatever needed with a lot of spirit, athleticism and skill.
