Educational video: How to propagate the uncertainties on measurements in the physics lab

This video is so so helpful. I spent nearly an entire semester in physics confused on this topic where our lab instructor never fully explained the topic and now I understand in less than 10 minutes.

See, this person gets it! So many educational videos take like ten minutes to get to the actual content. Why can't all math and science videos be like this one!?

thank you so much, I was expected to just do this without any explanation given the formula on one of my lab reports. I wish I would've found this before. Thanks again!

This is very good. Thanks for sharing. Explained the calculus part very well
@michaelsamir47234 жыл бұрын
I have watched this video 2 years ago and I didn't understand it then, cuse I didn't take calculus at that time. I was trying to understand the way we dealt with errors in physics but they didn't explain it to us. probably because it needs calculus and we didn't take that . But now after 2 years I clearly understand it. sometimes we have to wait to get what we want.

This has got to be the best video ever. Thank you sire. I will follow your teachings. My religion is now of GlacierFilm, LLC. Who else will join us in our quest to perfect uncertainty in this world? Now more than ever we must unite for the one true enemy, the enemy to the north. The long night is coming and we must be prepared. All hail the God of Light GlacierFilm, LLC.

Don't forget that meaningful uncertainty results must lie within the bounds of the significant figures of datum (measurements). For example if I am using a meter stick w/ cm and mm div to measure length is an uncertainty of 10E-5 m reasonable?

Hi Please, can someone help? How can I calculate the uncertainty on this ratio c=(x+y+z)/w ? Knowing that all x, y, z and w are variable and I know their uncertainties Thanks in advance
@libangmize3643 жыл бұрын
Why is this method different from the one which we use to do in high school physics, what i mean to say is that we just used to add the uncertainities back then. But here we take the square root of the whole squared uncertainity??? Edit: got the concept after watching the full video, btw thanks a lot😀
