Bought a new grill tank, had it filled and installed it... Wife was complaining that it wasn't going over 200 degrees after 10 minutes. Saw and watched this video as I was stumped. BOOM 500 DEGREES........ ALL FIXED. Thanks a million

This saved me some aggravation. I just had a 40# and a 30# filled and both weren’t sending out enough propane to my heater. The heater would shut off in a few minutes in a cold MN garage. My regulator was freezing and dripping liquid propane from it too. Did this and now they both are working great again. Thank you!

The set screw is a vent to the cylinder. The reason you loose gas supply is the regulator shuts off due to excessive flow. By opening the set screw you are momentarily lowering the pressure in the cylinder and also the regulator allowing the regulator to reset. You are also venting alot of gas to the atmosphere. It is much safer to shut the tank off, remove the regulator then install it again.....

I think I've counted 9 or 10 hidden features within these propane and regulator systems that will cause it to not let gas pass through. Each YT video reveals another safety feature to protect me from blowing up.💣

On a Weber grill, the burner will sometimes not produce full output. This is often caused by the valve on the tank not being fully turned on. According to Weber, the tank should be completely disconnected from the grill, wait about 10 seconds, and then reconnect it. The regulator may have gone into what is called "safe mode", and will be reset by this disconnecting and reconnecting of the bottle. Make sure the valve is turned completely on and then re-light the grill. This is often the problem when the grill will only reach around 250 degrees.

Trent, Thanks for the tip. Tried to BBQ with the temperature below freezing. Grill would light but flame was low and was not able to get the grill above 200 Deg. Had to use the charcoal grill that night. Checked KZfaq, found your post and the gas grill is fixed a working like a charm.

Thanks for your helpful video…My girlfriend was in the middle of cooking ribs and called and said the oven kept shutting off…Our tanks have a little star shaped valve. Turned it on for a little and froze my finger cause I left it in the way of the escaping gas…..Don’t do that….She went in the house and checked and everything on the house stove is working fine now….And now the ribs are coming….lol….Thanks a lot….

I usually just pick up the pre-filled cylinders from my corner store but they just put in a Tractor Supply close and decided to get them filled (full 20lbs not like the 14-15 the store gives you) and they would only trickle out. Thanks great tip.

If you don’t have a screwdriver handy, you can accomplish the same thing by closing the valve on the tank, unscrew the regulator from the tank to release the line pressure, put the regulator back on the tank, then open the tank valve VERY SLOWLY.

I recently had the Tractor Supply Store (which they couldn't do anything with the tank as no one was certified...) refill a tank. Unbeknownst to me...they overfilled it! I did notice it was extra heavy but didn't think anything of it. Fast forward - tried "refilled" tank on new grill to season it and within a few minutes the regulator froze solid. Did the reset thing like 3 times, waited and waited. still froze up. Other 2 tanks worked just fine with the same grill, so it wasn't the regulator. Thanks :)

You can also do the same thing by making sure the valve is closed on tank and the grill before installing or attaching any regulator, because the regulator is actually on a fail safe equalization lock out and won’t deliver the correct pressure to the burners. You will actually hear a click of the regulator when you open the tank valve

I was trying to get my forge going and it would burn like 1 to 2 min and stop ....did what you suggested and it worked ty so much I was about to throw shit lol😊

In my case the no pressure problem was the spring valve inside the valve! The one that releases the gas when you connect the grill gas hose!

My family used to sell propane so i knew about bleeding the valve, which were supposed to do while filling. The bleeding let's out trapped air which is made worse on hot days when the gas expands. What you don't say is if the connector should remain installed which i don't think it matters. Sometimes it takes longer than 15 seconds

That "little screw" on the side is a "relief valve". Modern cylinders have a OPD Valve . ( Overfill Protection Devise ) Even though most of these comments compliment you for being 'short & sweet' but I think you should have WARNED of possible EXPLOSION or FIRE . Don't do this near a source of spark or fire. ...... Jus sayin , "BE CAREFUL"

The problem is caused by an automatic cut off that's supposed to help if a hose is ruptured. It also cuts off if the tank is over pressure or is tipped too far.
