Yes true professional? What he doesn’t mention is what are you going to do when palm tree is 100+ ft how do u reach it with a helicopter or parachute??? Can someone please explain?

He did explain…. You hire a tree trimmer who will ascend the tree with a rope and spiked shoes or a truck with a telescopic bucket. You should watch a video on cleaning your ears out…

Great video, wish more people saw it. Here in Phoenix, Arizona we have an epidemic of over pruned palm trees. It’s amazing to see the amount of “professionals” who have no idea what they’re doing. They cut too much off which is harmful to the tree and it looks terrible. Palm trees are not supposed to be looking like a pencil.

Great job. I will definitely be coming to Earth works to look at palms and hope to meet you David. I lost 2 Canary island palms I had purchased at home depot a number of years ago from fusarium wilt. I never had anyone trim them as they were potted and the total height was at most 8-10 feet. The body of the palms were maybe 3 feet tall. So it had to be in the tree from the grower. I have now mentioned these concerns to a number of neighbors in hopes they sanitize their tools or more importantly tell the guys in trucks that drive around and offer discount palm trimming to sanitize theirs. I dont think many listen. But your advice is VERY, VERY important.

Hi there. I plant palm trees in Brazil and, while watching your video, this question ocurred to me: how long does it take for the roots of a transplanted palm to rebuild until it has again the same range it had before the transplantation? I mean, when it is properly planted with a drained soil with proper nutrients. Thanks for the video. I learned a lot from it.
@ceaseanddesist8036
@ceaseanddesist8036 Жыл бұрын
I would assume 18-24 months. For smaller faster growing palms like a Washingtonia I think more like 6-12 months. Why is because transplanted palms start to speed up their growth a lot around that time when planted in the ground.

I have seen people use a tree stand in other videos. They have "teeth", to prevention sliding, but not spikes (to create the wounds you talk about). Would that work? My tree is taller than 21 feet, and getting up on a ladder to use a pole saw is dangerous. A utility lift truck is not possible as the palm is in a fenced in yard and there is no way to get such a truck back there (housing on either side makes it impossible to simply remove a section of fence).

just had someone come clean up my palm tree. he took off SO MANY fonds. There's literally like 5 fonds at the top (in good shape)... the majority of my fonds were dead... but there was still SOME greenish ones at the top that were also cut off. Did they take off too many fonds? It looks incredibly dorky. will they grow back? will new ones come in? how long til it looks like my tree has some substance again?
