This is a great video! Thank you. I've used soaker hoses before, but I don't like to get water on the tree trunk. I found a new product called Waterhoop tree sprinkler, and I love it.

I love the 5 gallon bucket idea!!! I'd put a top on it though to prevent rodents from getting in anad drowning, but love this idea!

How many holes is needed and what drill bit size? Is it better to but the holes on the side of the bucket close to the bottom to prevent it from getting clogged if it was on the underside.

Hi Kim, I am trying to grow blueberries an hour away from where I live and I can only get there every 4-5 days. So it I a challenge to make sure they are watered. I have tried the 5 gallon bucket with a cotton string with little success. I even took a 15 gallon barrel and put a 1/64' hole in the bottom and set it next to the plant. It drained in 8 hours which is fine. However, when I leave and don't come back for 4-5 days I am not sure they are getting enough water since I just planted them. Is there any product out there that can release a 5 gallon bucket over a 3-5 day process.

Greg Brooks instead of drilling a hole in the bottom, try drilling a small hole in side of the bucket close to the bottom. Then insert a drip fitting with a low drip rate. A five gallon bucket will drain over 4-5 days

Where can I buy these drip fittings that I can install on the side of a 5 gallon bucket.
@on4acres4 жыл бұрын
Greg Brooks they are call drip emitters, and they come in all different flow rates. They’re very inexpensive and are sold at any home improvement store like Home Depot and Lowe’s.

Use a washing machine hose to finish the connection. It has two female ends.

I drilled 2 holes 1/4 but it's running to fast for my opinion 1/16 I'll try next time.
