14" makes no sense to me, doesn't fit in a 5 gallon bucket so you may as well use an 18" and a 9" in small closets.

I agree. 18 can be problematic for walls that aren’t completely flat. Ive run into that in commercial spaces.

G,day from Sydney Australia. I used an aluminium perforated ready to stick on, drywall patch. They come in different sizes and are a real time saver. I've been looking at a roller frame. With the latex acrylics... Gee they dry even and smooth. 🛐🌈🇦🇺

Friendly tip! Great video! I always use a 9'' for all my walls and ceilings. 18'' is to heavy at the end of the day! I don't use nothing less then a 15 mil sleeve for walls and a 20 for ceilings. Less dipping in the tray! The gooseneck guy! Cheers! Now available New Richard Gooseneck STIFF paint brush.

I'm almost always using an 18, even if it's just painting 1 or 2 bedrooms. Ceilings (if I am not spraying or using an inner feed), I prefer a 9 over an 18. 18 is too labor intensive on those.

"That's just the way we roll"... I was wondering about the 18" roller after watching the gang at Stud Pack use one. I'll stick to my 9" roller.

They're good for big ceilings. Obviously the finish doesn't matter too much because you'll never really see it . Just slap a heavy nap/pile on and u can get through it quickly

I like to use the 18inch and brush the corners by hand. That corner nap roller is pretty neat tho. Do they sell that with the innerfeed capabilities? If so, that might be another reason to switch to the 9 inch

If you're a pro you work fast with a 9. the 14, 18 will get more paint on the wall, but that doesn't mean you'll necessarily move faster with best results. If you have a lot of square footage to roll, the heavier cage will slow you down, and if you have to switch to the 9 for a tighter area, the bigger cage is pointless. are you going to to have two set ups? ridiculous. It makes more sense in commercial work where you have huge walls with much fewer tighter areas. But residential, no point.

18 inch if your back rolling behind spray gun. On ceilings, you don’t even move your arms, you just hold the roller overhead and walk.

I just find 9" too small , i normally get the 18" on bigger projects with plenty of wall space to roll in but otherwise i'll opt for a 14" Arroworthy , 9" just feels like a diy roller .

I prefer 18" for most things, rolling those narrow sections sideways isn't a big deal and clean up really isn't much more. Use a mini roller for the corners and you don't need to get so close your frame hits the walls. The time savings of 18" vs 9" is greater than any inconvenience. I'll use 9" for bathrooms and kitchens.
