I do agree with the attention got from driving Cube, people smiling at me (and my car) and they do remember that it's me.

Son has a 2009 Cube Krom and we all love it. It is roomy and small. It was his first car as well, and he has had it over 5 years and is still driving it.

Last night I purchased an 09 6 speed with only 80K miles on it. After having 2 spine surgeries it was too difficult getting in my 07 G35X. Since I'm 32, horsepower and speed aren't priorities for me. It's perfectly practical to get me where I need to go.

Hey mate, Great vid ;) 2003 Z11 Cubic Rider here... Man mine hits 160+k's with little effort, not even exaggerating, have had it past 160 (by bugger all) flat highway, no headwind... wind/aero makes ALL the difference with a cube on highway drives..... but seriously, trying to hold it at our pissweak 110 limits is harder than getting it up there, in mine ;) zero mods, stock standard 1.4L Auto too ..... well.... 16x8inch rims on a 45 sidewall tyre is the only "mod" if you can call it that... you are right about the Auto changing.... but as i've driven mine about 50,000k's now, i can tell you it is ALL about throttle position.... i can make mine change gear anywhere/when i want by simply having the pedal/revs where it needs to be for that shift... but like you said, early on, getting used to the feel of it, i would floor it and be expecting a change at a certain speed and sometimes it would just rev out in the gear it's in.... learning where to, and where not to apply more throttle made all the difference, it does as it's told now ;) anyway, i love the Cube (cubic 7 seater anyway) and will drive mine till it dies.... or i do.... or both :D keep making good vids mate, peace

It's simple : if you believe in yourself, you are gonna rock it with attitude. Otherwise, don't even think of it. Entirely depends on you.

I'm in the U.S. where the Cube came with a 1.8L engine & was avail with a CVT. This combo makes the Cube pretty zippy - engine winds out at the peak of its power curve during almost the entire (hard) acceleration period. You won't win a race against a muscle car, but you can easily get out first at a light when pitted against any normal driver. This is useful when you need to change lanes quickly after a light, etc. If a muscle car beats you, you'll be so far out ahead of the rest of the pack that you will be able to let off the gas and drop in behind him and take whatever lane you want. This and we average about 28MPG regardless of if we primarily drive on the highway (where we push the flying brick so fast that the poor aerodynamics kill mileage) or the city. You're right about the CVT reliability issue -- mine failed at about 40K miles and was replaced under warranty. I'm afraid it will likely fail again -- just after the 110k extended warranty Nissan offered on it. I understand a Nissan rebuilt CVT installed is $5-6k, though the dealer service rep promises the rebuilt ones they now provide are far more durable than the original ever was. Unfortunately, these rebuilts only come with a 15k warranty. Doesn't sound to me like Nissan really trusts their rebuilts if that's all they back them. Unfortunately, when the next CVT failure comes, I'll probably pay the price. This is my wife's car & she loves it cuz she can easily get in & out. And new Cubes are no longer sold here. I think Nissan failed to market them properly cuz Cubes with a slightly larger engine than yours combined with a CVT are pretty peppy and thus an absolute blast to drive.

Love my Cube. 2004, Cube Cubic - have been happy up to 125kph on the motorways in Victoria, bit of noise yes... soon to let mine go so very nostalgic - there is so much to love about this box on wheels, or the "toaster" as some get affectionately called. So cheap to run. Really enjoyed the import process as well. Buyer will inherit the CD that has been stuck in it since it left Japan - some sort of weird, Japanese soft/alt rock :)

I have the same car, It is awesome no problems at all 140 000 miles runs like new. I flush all the fluids, change all filters, changed all spark plugs and spark plug wires. Ceramic brake pads. Go to a great mechanic and have them do a 3 step fuel fuel injection cleaning service. Make sure they use BG products. It gets rid of all carbon build up The car roars now. Also use royal purple engine oil it is better then mobil 1 one oil. It drives like a race car now!!!! Also use Trico Titan wipers they work the best. I also change the serpentine belt every 80 000 miles just to be safe and i use royal purple oil filter great quality!

I love my Nissan Cube. Easy on gas. The only thing I dislike is the stereo, but I’m not pressed to change it now while it’s still working, , but that’s an easy fix, nothing major. I’m 5”10 1/2 tall and my height is no challenge for the cube. I still have alit of room left on the inside. My passengers aren’t cramped in the rear and it’s quite an enjoyable ride. My cube is red so I accessorized with black and red and it’s a unique looker too. She fast and gets plenty of looks.

My z13 is the most reliable thing I've ever driven. I literally only had two repairs in 12 years It was my oil pan ( New York road salt), and my resistor for my fan control.

How to fix cons: High centre of gravity - install coilovers and wide up your wheels. Its gonna be like glued to the road. Slow - change air intake for mushroom and your acceleration going skyrocket. Also if you want your car even faster use only Shell Vpower fuel. You gonna feel the speed. Noise - coilovers can fix that as well. Gearbox - there is button in the knob always have it in sport. its going hold speeds for longer .

We have a 2004 BGZ11 Cubic 7 seater - Factory IMPUL (supercharged) and it goes well - Feels like a much bigger engine and it really makes a huge difference. Many people are now doing the Nissan Tiida 1.8 and manual conversion and i am very surprised how well it runs. Great review :)

My cube pulls over 145KM easy enough.. Its the Cube3 but I took the back seats out for my two Rottweilers and put a tray in. No one hassles my cube .

Bought a 2009 6 speed manual transmission. Love it and hate it. Love it enough I can't ever get rid of it. It carries everything I need. It runs great, and has required very little maintenance. But it's so ugly/cute, that I sometimes crave something more normal. I had a Jeep Compass brand new and it was always in the shop, so I went back to the Cube as I have time and time again. But my kids won''t drive it because they hate the look, oh yeah and they can't drive stick.

I will be buying my first cube in a few days but still undecided on the better equipped more modern z12 or imo the better looking boxier but older z11 , the 1.5 with the cvt gearbox's are supposed to be smoother but from what I can gather are far more fragile and higher maintenance then the 4 speed auto. Still undecided if i should take a gamble with a ctv or buy the less powerful 1.4 4 speed Manuel.

My 1.4 none CVT e4wd weighs 1130kg. I heard all the 1.5's have CVT....I actually had mine on a Dyno because it seemed down on power, it had 80bhp. The intake pipe and filter were full of what looked like thistle fluff. Should have checked it after importing it. Bought a k&n panel filter and modified the inlet pipe and it ran at 98bhp. Still pretty slow.

I love how its looks, but its a rare car at my place... i will face problem if its broke down..

You said it sits high but from what I see it sits low, I have a Honda element 2004 with over 273miles I wouldn't say it's trouble free but a Nissan with that small engine maybe the next best thing

I have a 2009 with a CVT and can get to 115mph fairly quickly. YOu need to learn to 'pedal' the CVT so it keeps changing ratios. The automatics are a waste of money.

Suppose you saw a Mom with young kids reviewing a Mazda Miata. And she's saying stuff like, "Well, it looks really nice but man it lacks proper seating room for kids and you're fucking screwed if you go shopping." Right. Because that's not what a Miata was for. You'd have to be a tool to review that car that way. The Nissan Cube was a city car. For people who do not have large garages but need as much space as possible within their small car. It offers AMPLE seating room for 4 people. The CVT offers decent gas mileage and is for the person who spends a ton of time in traffic. And it's for the person who doesn't mind a different interior and exterior. THAT'S IT. It's a simple review. You don't say, "Whoa... this thing doesn't take corners well at high speeds." That's right. It's not a Miata.

Yo quiero comprarme un cube3 lo encuentro familiar ideal para 2 adultos y 3 niños y es por su espacio interior y capacidad en la parte de atrás.... Es cierto que es lento para una carretera de 160k/h. pero lo normal es 100k/h o 120k/h.. con respecto al ruido del viento no es problema porque los niños les gusta andar con las ventanas abajo... La economía es espectacular.... lo malo es su cilindrada 1.4 cc es poca para un vehículo que pesa más de 1000 kg ... Otra cosa buena es que el piso no tiene lomos y para llevar a una amiga es más fácil tirarsela. JAJAJAJAJA
