So my partner and I are from a tiny island near Britain called Jersey. We want to one day emigrate to the US and Montana is certainly high up on our list. The problem is, we want to become permanent residents and apply for citizenship. I just don’t know how willing Montana would be to take on British citizens who are looking to call the state their home for the future. I also keep getting conflicting reports on the process of immigrating to the US as a British citizen
@lifeinbozemanmt
@lifeinbozemanmt 19 күн бұрын
Hi there and thanks for watching! I’m familiar with some of the immigration processes, mostly from Canada though, so I can’t speak specifically to willingness or how it would work specifically, but I can say often it’s dependent upon your employment. An employer can sponsor a work visa, and so forth. Citizenship can often flow from there. I hope that’s helpful! Feel free to email me anytime - it’s in the comments pinned!

Why do you address the winter high and low temps in two different standards? You say the high in farenhight and low in celcius. Didn't know if that was a mistake or a way people in extreme cold guage temperatures.

Pretty accurate report. Well done. But, wrong, there are not enough restaurants. You gave a few good shout outs… but failing to mention “Luccas”. But if you want to move to this town, please open a restaurant! We need a PHO restaurant. We had an excellent one, but it closed. We need a custom bakery, we have a few good ones, but none that bakes custom cakes! Indian food would be great! And for the love of Pete, PLEASE build an Olive Garden!!

Washingtonian who moved to South Carolina with the military. Looking to retire from active duty in the next 6 years. Randomly Montana popped up in my head to retire to. I hate South Carolina, and not sure I’m fond of the Blue take on Washington and Oregon lately. Looking to get a software developer or web developer job when I get there. Any computer people in Montana who have good things to say about it? I’m pretty much a purple person and keep to myself on a lot of things.

Montana is a great place to retire - if you can handle the winters! Different areas in Montana definitely lean different ways politically, it's not all red/blue for sure. There's great tech opportunities in Bozeman too! Helena may not have as many jobs, but it's growing there too certainly. I love both areas! Feel free to reach out if you'd like to learn more too.

@@lifeinbozemanmt by blue take I meant how the democrats are allowing homelessness to completely ruin cities like Seattle and Portland. Where it’s not safe. Portland used to be awesome to go to the Rose Parade or Portland Trailblazer games and walk around. Seattle was great but there’s legit blocks taken over and controlled by armed homeless people who made it a lawless zone.

You can not have a fire because Montana doesn't trust you. Helena has Montana's largest cathedral, St. Helena. The first governor of MT was a member of the IRA and sentenced to death by the crown. He escaped and was a north gorilla soldier. Helena until recently had the most northern confederate monument. Irish catholic govenor and the 4 Georgians, and the governor allegedly drowned. Montana is not closed folks. No sales tax. Please come visit. Fly into south central (Billings), 2 hours from YNP, 140 to Bozeman, 240 to Helena, Great Falls and Butte and 340 to Missoula. Everything is a quick drive, mostly down I 90.

Helena has the rudest people and worst drivers in Montana and I’ve lived in Billings, Missoula , Greatfalls and Lewistown(which is the second worst town I’ve lived in here. The drivers are mind boggling bad I’ve never lived somewhere where so many pedestrians and cyclists get smashed . They don’t stop for crosswalks lmao which is crazy , in Missoula you would think they get 500 bucks for every crosswalk they stop at . You can get from one end of town to the other in under 20 min yet people will be speeding darting in and out of traffic like their house is on fire. no blinker no muffler no problem. The funnest thing to do in Helena is to go out of town. Helena is a good place to get your dog attacked on a trail by another dog off its leash

The people that control this town have no vision of adding restaurants, clothes shopping , infrastructure, great outdoor stores like Cabela's , Scheels etc. . The surrounding area is all residential overbuilding in water depleted areas is a major problem. The lakes have horrible marina facilities and access . D of entire. Is pathetic . Did I say clothes stores are a joke . Property taxes very high . The cities worth living in have all high property taxes .
