That was the first sign of ichigo being a quincy...

I love that the ending in this episode is basically "Before we had these 13 badasses, now we have these 13 weaklings".

The anime onlys went crazy when this episode came out. That's why this was my favorite episode of the first cour, the emotions, the intensity and weight of ichigo vs yhwach, the reveal, the OG gotei 13 vs the Quincys 1000 years ago and byakuya on the verge of death pleading with ichigo to save the soul society brought their relationship full circle from the beginning of the series. 11/10 episode! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Episode 7 was truly amazing! Just when I thought that Episode 6 wouldn't be touched, here comes number 7. That flashback introduction to the original Gotei 13 was jaw-droppingly exciting and truly set the mood for what was to come. 🔥

There is a rumor that the author received death threats after the release of the chapter where Byakuya seemingly die. He also deleted his Twitter around that time. It would make sense that he made a 180 and undid the choice. They also left out a dialogue in the Anime between Yhwach and Haschwalth where Haschwalth commented that "Byakuya died".

Ywach fighting ichigo, and then calling him his son, was definitely a Darth Vader moment right there

So, there's a filler episode towards the end of the Arrancar Saga that's Halloween themed and in it, Ichigo is Frankenstein's Monster... You could've already described him as such before this episode but him being a Quincy as well seals it. Quincy, Soul Reaper, Fullbring, Hollow - Ichigo is a literal Genetic Freak in this Universe. A filler episode low key spoiled this reveal from a thematic standpoint. Aizen's Monster lol

i told ppl they weren't ready for the TYBW but no one listened.

That scene at the beginning and all the characters were never in the manga. Everybody saw them for the first time a few days before this episode came out then this was their first and only scene in anything so far. He did give us the names of all of them and the squad they led though. Some of them are pretty amazing. One of them is literally gojo with melanin. He's also yoruichi's ancestor chika shihoin. He's the one you pointed out in the vid. They already making a figure of him lmao. Idk where we would get it but hopefully we get more of them in future. The whole ichigo fight is new too. In the manga he just got clapped with the swiftness. If they made more additions like that this season would've been peak. They said the next season would be even better though. I think it was tough getting all the animators on this season since they were tied down with other things.

After you guys get caught up with the episodes or specifically after you watch episode 11 of TYBW, go back to your Bleach 152/153 reaction and go to timestamp 13:28 and you'll have an eye opener.

[Tidbits and Extras] - Remember back when Aizen was talking to Ichigo, he was about to tell him why he was watching him since birth, but then Isshin intentionally cut him off, this is why. (Also why Yhwach say "Enemy" as if he doesn't view Ichigi in that way) - If you go to the very first episode of Bleach, you'll notice that Ichigo's bed sheet is a Quincy Cross, pretty cool foreshadowing so early on. - Kubo masterfully uses Byakuya, Yama, and Kenpachi here, in the previous arcs those are the characters that appear and fix the issues, they are a narritive safe place...that's why he choose to have them be targerted, it assures the reader that this threat wont be so easily stopped. - Ichigo not being able to help during the attack is another directly setup concept, always remember that his biggest trauma was his inability to protect him mother, that's why he's always so focused on protecting his loved ones, and here he relieves that feeling...complete helplessness, and fittingly enough his mother's saves him again just like when he was a kid (Tho this time it's through her blood)

Episode 7 was definitely the best of the season for me. The rest of the season is great too with even more big reveals, but the emotions, music, voice acting, and animation in 7 is just peak anime.
