Hello, Filipino viewer here. I've always looked at you guys across the Sulu Sea with envy. Not only does Malaysia have a domestic auto manufacturer (2 in fact, Proton and Perodua), but you guys also have a homegrown, in-house performance arm for at least one of the manufacturers, Proton's R3, which builds and sells competitive and compelling performance variants of the more pedestrian base cars. We did get Proton here in the 90s....one of the dealerships was located near my mom's office in Makati City then. I think we got Wiras and Putras, among others. Shame we didn't get the Satria or anything badged R3. I'm just beginning to learn about Malaysian hi-po cars and am currently binging your vids, this, the Satria Neo R3s, the Lotus Racing and RS, as well as old vids of Fifth Gear testing a Satria GTI at Sepang. Kinda curious too about the tiny Savvy with the R3 bits....too bad there's not much content about that anywhere, aside from brochures. 🤷‍♂️ Well, this comment has gone long winded now, kinda like Genting. Please keep up the good work, and may you find that Waja MME you're looking for as well as that Savvy R3 Zerokit that I am looking for.

The Gen-2 MME looks so good eventhough it's stock. Kudos to the owner to keep it stock. Hoping for you to find a Waja MME owner in the future!

My dad buy a new gen2 2007 edition black colour and then it had problem on 2011 he sold it and on the same year 2011 right time after he sold it, he go to proton centre and he buy another new gen2 cps highline red colour, still running good condition until now 2024 with stock condition dude.. for me this car impress me so much la, ill keep this car lahh.. you right it was really sentimental for me juga do

The mme kit actually transformed how the gen2 looks. The malaysian motor industry has some very interesting cars..the wira c99, putra 1.8 and the satria gti. Over in singapore we had the satria gti but sadly none of it survived the coe system. Very cool cars from the 90s to early 2000 era indeed

The Gen 2, the car that kickstart my passion for Proton, grew up with a Gen 2, it was my brother's, a very a early model with all beige interior😂. Now at the age of 20, managed to get myself a Satria Neo CPS with the 'spoiler tinggi' one. Restoring it back to it's former glory.

Gen2 MME is one very special car, but my choice is the CPS spec because of pure power delivery (VIM at low end, CPS at high end giving 125bhp) while MME is towards high end rpm, more raw. Again, cosmetically and aesthetically MME is still nice and may outperform CPS stock to stock on the track. But I would still go for CPS for its driveability. Don't believe? Try accelerate in 5th gear from 30kmh and no hesitation at all. All the way to 210-220.

find me the car which budget u less than 10k which give the good handling and enough power for amateur driver like me. also plenty of spare parts outside..thats why i bought gen2 cps manual, cannot find another enjoy car for that price range..

Poor sales car...many negative feedback...fuel consumption high, power window problem, not very powerful car, lack of responsive engine and etc..etc.. , low resale value market...trade-in less than 3k...(10 years old car )...😅😅😂😂 Now use Perodua brand which is much2 better.. 😁

When you said the Saga looks like the Honda City. Which saga and City are you referring to? I struggle to see the resemblance. My mom has a Saga, and I drive the City so they're parked side by side on a daily basis 😂
