My favorite part about ASMR videos is when a creator moves around the room a little and gets further and closer to the mics. Every time someone gets close to the mic and whispers or softly speaks after speaking away from the mic I always get maximum ASMR. So I tried to do that A LOT here :)

Proximity is one of the most effective visual triggers, however not so many creators of ASMR focus on this trigger as the main trigger of a video. That’s why this video is so great, thank you. Greetings from Mexico.

there's actually an asmr similar like this, it's heather feather anticipatory series where she would randomly whisper close to the ear or far. so glad i found a similar one! it was soooo tingly

I love this trigger! my other favourite is surprise whispers where the creator is soft spoken and far away from the mic to suddenly right in you ear through editing so you don't hear them coming.

Ahh the thing that made masses feel ASMR and then ppl had to come up with a name for it? That ~2 decade old viral binaural barber video! Very few ASMRtists do this proximity trigger these days.

Finally another video on youtube taking advantage of proximity in binaural recording, bless your face for recognizing how great these proximity effects can be. The barbershop video another commenter mentioned is still one of my favorite unintentional ASMR, the background in-room music and various moving background noise paired with the barber talking really amplified the proximity effect too. Hope to see more of these in the future!

Definitley got relaxing vibes and went to sleep within 5-7 minutes. I thought the proximity effect was cool. I most enjoyed when Tom got closer to mic as I enjoy closer proximity of the whispers in my ears. Tom you're great at what you do.

OMG, this technique of varying distance and direction is incredible. I'm not sure I have seen this done in any other ASMR video. Particularly effective is your circling around and approaching from behind. Outstanding work.

Omg! 4:45 definitely not boring ! Tingles atomic bomb! I’ll admit I don’t get tingles from your vids… I just love your voice and whispers and just the sound your voice gives puts me at ease and helps me sleep. But this vid.. game changer! Wow! Tingles!! You know Tom, I never thought about this before but the whole proximity thing is a good trigger for me, too. Especially where the closer to the mic, the quieter the voice. Also loved those little chains/mesh, I absolutely love metallic sounds ❤️

I agree a lot with the description 👀 Few videos do that of walking around the microphone and at one point getting very close to it. I love when they whisper super close to the mic, since it is as if they are there speaking directly into your ear. In some videos where they do that, people even say in the comments that you can feel their breath, and it's fascinating because it's true, and it's sooooo tingly. The sad part is that is so underrated :')

I love proximity ASMR. 35 seconds in, and this has become one of my fave ASMR vids. I’ll definitely be revisiting this vid over and over again. Please do more of these proximity vids. And I do hope you’ll try your hand at some role play even if it isn’t your strength. It doesn’t have to be perfect for us to enjoy it. Keep up the good work!

Soft speaking/whispering sounds really close to the ears or "back of the head" gives me the BIGGEST tingles...so much that I physically cannot continue listening to it. Even thinking about it gives tingles down my spine. So whenever I start getting "immune" to other triggers, I come back to this trigger, even tho I can never complete the video or listen it to sleep. lol idk if it's a good thing or bad thing.

I love videos with a soft whisper near my ear. I could listen it for hours. It's so nice and soothing and even exciting... These type of videos are so effective 😍 Cause it's "true binaural" . I wish more ASMRtists did this type of video. I have only seen Heather Feather & EasyASMR do it . And ASMR Jeremiah does it sometimes .

That chainmail is amazing and has me dozing off. I love this - it sort of reminds me of Heather Feather’s old “fast…….. and slow…….” but with near and far.

Loved this! At least, haven’t actually managed to stay awake beyond the start of the tapping, but tingly and perfect up to then. I dreamt of brushing a wire haired dog - must try to watch it sometime to see if the rest of the video involves dog-brushing…
