PRP TREATMENT FOR FACE (WITH DERMAPEN)

Platelet-rich plasma (or PRP) is treatment that I've always wanted to try, but since it's not suitable for people who have active acne (yep, once again my acne ruins everything) and it's quite expensive I was delaying booking the appointment. In the summer clinic in Dubai, which I've visited before for other treatments and I like, had offer 2 for 1 for PRP + DERMAPEN treatment for the face. Luckily, at that time I didn't have any pimples and decided to finally get this Vampire Facial done.
I was super excited as I heard that it basically works like a magic for your face. It smooths and tightens the skin, softens wrinkles, evens your skin tone, brightens the dark circles and the acne spots.. and more. And the best thing about it is that is all natural, because they use plasma from your own blood!
Before booking the appointment I read a lot about the Plasma Facial and as far as I understood there're few ways to get this treatment done, one option is the plasma to be directly injected into specific areas of the skin, another option is to be combined with microneedeling (Dermapen).

Thank you for sharing this process with us! How long were you using benzoyl peroxide before you received this treatment? Did you still use benzoyl peroxide after this treatment? If so when did you start using it again?

Hi Tiffany, I was actually not using BP at that time, I discovered this magical product few months later lol So here's what happened: I did PRP+dermapen in August and I absolutely loved it, in January I started BP which got rid of my acne after few months and in June I went for the same treatment but in different clinic and the dermatologist recommended me VIVACE instead of the dermapen, it's also micro-needling but it goes much deeper, it's more expensive and more painful but much more effective! One or two weeks before and after the treatment I stop using benzoyl peroxide and glycolic acid as they make your skin very sensitive and I don't expose it to sun. After that I go back to my normal skincare routine. The treatment is great for acne scars and marks, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, dullness.. but it won't get rid of the acne. I'm still using BP.

You're very welcome x Just have to mention that Vivace is the name of the machine but there're many micro-needling machines that do the same thing. So the dermatologists in your city might use different brand micro-needling machine but should give you the same result. 🙂

I wanted to do it but have one question in mind that if I did Dermapen with PRP treatment does my skin becomes more sensetive for 🌞 sun, 3-4 Months after treatment if I go out in the sun, I have feeling this treatment will cause your skin to be more sensetive towards sun, What's your thoughts on this??

I haven't noticed that to be honest with you and I live in a very very sunny city. Keep in mind that the Dermapen doesn't penetrate very deep into the skin, my skin looked normal literally the next day. And of course you can always apply sunscreen when you go out and/or avoid the sun psychically if you have any concerns regarding that.

@@nadiazayatmakeup thanks for the reply, One more thing I have done the dermaroll treatment 2 years ago on my acne scars and then after my skin becomes more sensetive towards sun so if I did Dermapen with PRP Is it becomes more sensetive?? And is it safe to do Dermapen with PRP treatment?? because I have done dermaroll previously so

It shouldn’t get more sensitive but it’s best to ask the dermatologist before the treatment.

Is rhis treatment is for 1 time only for acne scars or required touchups?

Well, it really depends on how many scars you have and how deep they are. However unfortunately when it comes to the skin one treatment is never enough. It will help but it's best to get few treatments done.

If you don’t have any more scars you don’t have to do it.

Dermapen does't penetrate very deep so the results aren't dramatic, but sure it helped with some small acne scars/spots.

Jj Ji I think it should be ok but it’s better to ask the doctor or the nurse in advance. I guess it depends on how sensitive your skin is.

Hi, Vijeta. They put cream with anaesthesia first (the white face mask I've got) after 10, 15 min you don't really feel your skin so it isn't painful at all. The first time she did it with dermapen (the video is from then) which doesn't get that deep into the skin so really I didn't feel anything. It was only red that same day. The second time she did the same thing PRP + micro needling but instead of dermapen the dermatologist suggested a machine called VIVACE. She said you get better results with it. So that was painful and my face was red for at least 5 days but indeed the result was better. By the way my skin is very thick, it's opposite of sensitive. As far as I know there're no side effects.

Vijeta Sharma you’ll see difference even after one session but of course it’s better if you get at least 2, 3 .. it really depends on the condition of your skin and what you want to achieve. When the doctor have a look at your skin they’ll advise you how many treatments it’s better to do. As far as I know it’s for all skin tones..

If you get it done in a licensed clinic, with good reviews and capable doctors.. there's nothing to worry about!
