This amazing guitar belongs to a good friend of mine who was kind enough to let me enjoy it for several days and do this review! This is a guitar among guitars, top shelf in every way - thanks for checking this out!

Great vid. Agree with the hollow body making it a little jazzier than the typically PRS tone. Definitely in the market for one of these Nice ABB licks btw, RIP Dickey

Guitar of my dreams! I fell in love with it years ago when I found your “Looking Out for Number One” tutorial! Do you know how it compares with the new SE versions with the laminated top (sound and playing-wise)?
@tonedr3 жыл бұрын
hello...so cool you used the 'Looking Out' video. That's one of the few guitars that still haunts me and I wish I still had it. I haven't played the SE models but all is hear is good things. you might want to check out the PRS forum for more info.

Dale, I appreciate your talent like you'll never know. Always enjoy listening to you and the others cover all these groups. I love the Lyin' Eyes cover y'all did. I know most versions of the song have a guitar picking, piano playing melody. I've listened to the Eagles my whole life without knowing Don Felders true role in the group. He was their main lead on most every song they had. Don't get me wrong, Joe was good at what he did but they all had certain parts. My question is, have you ever watched the 1977 live concert at Capital Center in DC. Felder is busy throughout the whole song with background licks and even the mandelin sound in a couple of verses all with a Tele. That's my favorite version although the newer version is still good. Thank you for your talent and sharing it as well. Loving it.

hello James...thanks for the post I enjoyed it - I will check out the video! DF is one special player - the Eagles where a force for sure when they had all the right pieces. Stay well, your friend, dale.

@@tonedr Thanks for replying Dale. I will be 53 tomorrow. When I was 20, I joined a group of older guys that were 20+ years older than me. I ordered a Les Paul Custom, black and gold, from Music Emporium and bought me a Peavey Renown 400. I played rythum with the KT Express from Big Rock Tennessee for 10 years in clubs and outings. I loved it all. What an experience. I don't play with anybody now and after my 5-10 minute stuck in a rutt practice routine every few months, I put my guitar away and move on to something else. New music is so complex for someone who plays strictly by ear. You are so amazing to watch play and listen to. I know all of you fellows practice and play for hours on end and it shows. I will be following you as long as the Good Lord lets me. Thanks again for replying. It means so much.

Dale... you need a better microphone. Great guitar! I'm convinced PRS are the best guitars made. I've 'had' a Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul that didn't compare to my PRS Mark Tremonti core model. I also own several PRS SE's that are equal to the custom shop as far as fit and finish. I've installed SD P-Rails in the ZM Semi Hollow Body I own. Incredible sound and versitility! That McCarty 594 is a real beauty! Love it!

great guitar big fan of PRS and Knaggs guitars. can I ask you about the cool light wieght looking guitar cases in the back? all my guitars are hollow or semi hollow because of my disability and 3 fake hips but I could use a light case that gives mu guitar the protection you want for a high end PRS or (Joe)Knaggs guitar that are 3-6K Thanks and great review for a great guitar
@tonedr3 жыл бұрын
hello Travis...great to hear from you sir and thanks so much for checking this out. The cases are made by Calton Cases in Austin. They are my fave cases, obviously:) maybe give them a look and thanks for checking out this vid, stay well, your friend, dale.

@@tonedr Awesome Thank you because I am only about an hour and a half from Austin and along with looking cool they look very protective and like any guitar will fit like me Knaggs Chena which is that guitar but single cut and about 339 size but only 6lbs Does the McCarty have a center block? Chena does not and I know Joe Knaggs designed the PRS Hollow body I & II before when he was head of PRS R&D. Weight is the biggest issue for me with my disability now. Thanks for the info Dale

Hey buddy, great demo! We've conversed before on the Gear Page. I own several Collings, like yourself, and mostly use Collings. I also love PRS though, and have a 594 Semi-Hollow, which is awesome. I've been eyeing the fully hollow version for some time now, and still have yet to play one. How would you characterize this guitar, more closer to a full hollow body, like a 175, or closer to a 335? I love the sound of a full hollow body, but like the modern interpretations of old designs like Collings and PRS do. Thanks for any feedback. I have a bunch of Collings reviews if you want to check those out.
@tonedr2 жыл бұрын
maybe the 335, it's a pretty resonant guitar, honestly all three are their own thing IMO. Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
