@@ModzvilleUSA thanks ! I only have diagram for ide adapter to PS2 v12, For the two board, it’s just a straight forward wiring to micro Sd adapter 😉

Thanks ! SCPH70xxx can be modded for slim model, greater model Sony remove IDE controller from motherboard to reduce production cost

Awesome work! I just completed this mod myself and was able to format my SD card using Ulaunchelf but now my computer won’t recognize the sd card. Have you ever seen this happen or perhaps know what my issue could be?

it's normal ! ulaunch format the SD Card in a RAW format, and you need to use soft like hdldump to add games on your SD Card ;)

do you need a modchip installed for this or will an FMCB memory stick be enough?

With modchip I can direct boot in opl quickly, and use the console without memory card, but the first reason is…. I do that for fun and love of old soldering technic. It’s work without modchip and only fmcb yes 👍

And i thought the Xstation Mod i just did for my ps1 was hard :O I think ill just do the ModBo 5.0 mod for my ps2 and just burn the backups as this is Beyond BOSS LVL difficulty to me.

Do you reinstall the bottom metal shield when you reassemble the PS2?

nope ! I have made 3D printed part to fix the screw i.etsystatic.com/34774323/r/il/41ba1f/3785467630/il_1140xN.3785467630_egtq.jpg It’s prototype one, other fix are cleaner 😉

Greetings. Question: Are 256 and 512 GB SD cards supported? I ask because I encountered a software limitation of up to 128 GB. That is, as the card fills up, OPL does not see new recorded games, the old ones (which were before) start normally.

The se card adapter used in this video doesn’t support lba48, it’s that why you can’t fill up to 137gb. There is other mod you can do with SATA adapter to bypass all limitations, another it’s iflash that I have done on some console, but sd card on market actually are up to 1,5tb and they are expensive

Did you have schematic diagram for flexible power/reset button, trying replace 3 flexible, 3 pcb button still not working (sometimes its turn on greenif put some right potition but) So i broke it because angry 😅 maybe if i jumper it from pcb ps2 to pcb power button will work

Sorry, I haven’t schematics for that, but with a multimeter you can find the corresponding trace and make direct wire. I have done that in the past and work pretty well.

@@Gusse i tried with 0,1mm jumper wire its work but the light dim and not working when i push it so i switch the cable with more thicker but the light not turn on anymore 😅 I'll try again next with cable like on the video

hello. Tell me what you need to write to the memory card to run opl like you do? I also have everything chipped and the adapter is installed on the sd card, but I can not make mod bo5 run directly opl from the memory card.

I use matrix installer from usb or mc on ps2 to install the .elf (opl here) you want on Sd (dev2) after have formated Sd with hdd manager from ulaunch.elf Hope it you 😉

Dude I just sd card modded my ps2 slim scph90004 with an adapter but now there is no video output but there is power. The fan spins and the power light also comes up. Please help me 😭😭😭🙏🙏

hello ! based on my knowledge, unfortunately only SCPH-70xxx can be modded for HDD mod, because other later revision doesn't have the ide controller on motherboard

That network resistor array is so annoying and I’ve destroyed a few boards attempting this by melting them off. I wonder, if this will work if I replace them with 10k resistors On the sd adapter

Я на 7000-й версии пс 2 слим реализовал иде-сд адаптер (распаял проводами чуть толще волоса) все проводки уложил как с картинки аккуратно красиво и вывел на переднюю панель гнездо для микро сд и там-же индикации загрузки флешки и работы иде адаптера и ничего не резал совсем с первого взгляда и не понять что с приставкой что-то не то да и вообще не понять если не показать флешка на 128г самсунг синий. чип впаял модбо 5. привод дисков сохранён и к тому-же читает всё и вся сама приставка в идеальном виде и состоянии и вся работа проведена аккуратно до самых мелочей. Фото работ всех имеется пока болел (чем-то надо было заняться) 3 дня и ночи я всё это мутил. Также имеются адаптеры для джойстиков блюретро и пс 4 джойстики. Вопрос если способ загружаться с free hdd boot на пс 2 слим 7000 ??? в модбоо 5 в меню выбираю загрузиться с hdd при загрузке консоли чёрный экран и ничего не происходит.

@@Gusse The question is, is there a way to boot from free hdd boot on ps 2 slim 7008??? In modboo 5 I select boot from hdd in the menu, but when the console boots, the screen is black and nothing happens.

@@Mypka-Abs oh ok I understand better ! FreeHDDBoot is not compatible with bios revision of PS2 Slim. But you can use matrix dev2i.elf installer to installer the app you want in dev.2 boot sector and allow to boot directly with modbo 5.0 dev.2 option to boot ;) Depending on the mod you do, SATA mod or SD Card mod, the console can't boot on some SSD with SATA Mod. With SD Card mod, I manage to boot each time directly on the SD Card with modbo dev.2 boot mode.

@@Gusse I have installed SD-IDE 2.5 inches, 44 pins, SDHC/SDXC/MMC-IDE Samsung pro plus flash drive 128g The flash drive is installed in the ventilation hole on the outside of the console, from the front it looks like it came from the factory, nothing is cut out, the slot for the flash drive is installed in the console as expected. in the modboo 5 menu I selected the option to boot from hdd dev2, but the console only shows a black screen when loading FreeHDDBoot onto a flash drive, but only a black screen and that’s it.

Good morning ! it's AWG30 bought in China, the insulation is not really heat resistant and is quite thick
