I have this amp and my meters come up to about a third of the way and STAY there from the time the amp warms up until it's cut off. It sounds FABULOUS, but I don't get what's wrong with the meters. It's hooked to the headphone interface kit. (Unconnecting it does nothing, btw......) This is just weird. It's alright with me if they're non-functional, but I'd have rather had them not be on the amp in the first place, if they actually don't tell me anything. Yours seem to work similarly inasmuch as their "travel" doesn't occupy the vast range of travel in the meter's construction. Any advice appreciated. TIA....

@@nelekone7938 must have volume up on pc or somewhere else, and also speakers are settled in 4ohm and not 8ohm

Yes, player volume is app maximum, but volume amplifier is at 9 o'clock. In general, the speakers are not as strong as the amplifier. The maximum volume that I can amplify on the amplifier is three o'clock.

You have to change the BIAS circuit. Can also swap to 6L6GC tubes as well. Each tube has minor tonal differences.

Sometimes KT77 can be used as replacement for EL34. I have done so ( but I stress this is only my experience ) in my old Silsonic SAP-E50T push-pull amp with excellent results. I re-biased amp from 36-37mA with the EL34's, to 40-40.5mA with the KT77's. Plate voltage was in spec for the Silsonic/KT77 combo, but i watched it carefully for any signs of ' Red Plate ', during the first few hours of operation with the KT77's. The EL34's i used were JJ's and the KT77's are Genalex Gold Lion. To my ears, the '77's provide a little more low end punch and top end chime without loosing that all important midrange. To me, the KT77 sort of falls between the EL34 and KT88 tonally. Do this change at your own risk, as did I. As of this post, the KT77's have done around 30 hours work.
