Thanks for this. it's a great explanation and it can be really challenging trying to do the MSE whilst talking with patients! I just started my term in a Jail Hospital and was speaking with a convicted 2x murderer and the last thing I was thinking about whilst doing his history (whilst he was describing the murders) was concurrently performing the MSE! Hopefully it will come with practice!

The thing I learned from this video is to never ever talk with a mental health professional without my lawyer present. Because anything I say can easily be twisted and used as an evidence against me, and suddenly I can be tagged as mentally ill and thus can lose much of my civil rights. Can the people in the examination exercize their right to remain silent?
@madmed
@madmed 5 жыл бұрын
Hello - thank you very much for your question. I try to stay away from answering any personal health/law questions and I would direct any of these kinds of questions to professionals you are working with. Thank you for watching!

@@madmed Thank you very much for this very honest, informative and self-explanatory answer. By the way the professionals I am working with requested me to convey you their best wishes in your endeavour in helping people by letting them help mental health nuses with their enquiries through such scientific medical examinations which would arguably reveal their mental status.

It goes to show you that we all have a mental health history, not only those who are "mentally ill." The spotlight can be brutal. Better to stay out of it and have compassion for those under it.

I feel for you my friend. They ask questions like an inquisitor from the Roman inquisitional period, seeking revenge against another faith... I live QLD Australia and I am currently on an ITO. I have started a legal action against the psychiactric clinc for denying the side effects that I am facing, such as sleep apneao, which can be fatal to the elderly and has stoped me from working now. I will lean on my 8 most basic rights as a consumer to battle them before a presiding Judge and I am waiting anxiously for the oportunity as I know the history and facts now thanks to CCHR's website and videos on youtube. 8 Basic rights of a consumer: 1 Right to Basic Needs, which guarantees survival, adequate food, clothing, shelter, health care, education and sanitation. With this right, consumers can look forward to the availability of basic and prime commodities at affordable prices and good quality. 2 Right to Safety-the consumer should be protected against the marketing of goods or the provision of services that are hazardous to health and life. 3 Right to Information-the consumer should be protected against dishonest or misleading advertising or labeling and has the right to be given the facts and information needed to make an informed choice. 4 Right to Choose-the consumer has the right to choose from among various products at competitive prices with an assurance of satisfactory quality. 5 Right to Representation-the right to express consumer interests in the making and execution of government policies. 6 Right to Redress- the right to be compensated for misrepresentation, shoddy goods or unsatisfactory services. 7 Right to Consumer Education, which is the right to acquire knowledge and skills necessary to be an informed customer. 8 Right to a Healthy Environment-the right to live and work in an environment which is neither threatening nor dangerous and which permits a life of dignity and well-being.
