Took my PTE Academic yesterday. Scored 90 / 90 / 90 / 90. For context, I went in wary of the Writing section, as it was where I'd lost points in my IELTS. Found Jay's tips to be super helpful. Short summary below: PTE Essay Structure Para 1: Introduction + Give background + Rewrite prompt + State argument (i.e., which 'side' you are taking) Para 2: Body - Part I + Introduce main idea + Additional information + Provide an example + Conclude paragraph Para 3: Body - Part II + Introduce main idea + Additional information + Provide an example + Conclude paragraph Para 4: Conclusion + Summarise main ideas (i.e., Para 2 and Para 3) + Strong end statement PTE Essay Planning IMPORTANT!!! Plan out your essay at the start by having a single word / phrase for the key ideas of Para 2 and Para 3.

I took the test yesterday and was surprised to get 90 across the board. Obviously it was easier for me being a native speaker, but I'd love to know the actual scoring process because I thought I'd failed the speaking part due to messing up on the describe image sections. Hi Jay, I am very thankful for your advice especially related to essay writing as I was not scoring high in essay writing. I realized that you changed your essay writing method compared to the old one. Once I changed according to the new format, I scored good in mock tests and on test day I had the confidence to execute it. Thanks to you, I passed with high grades!

The following tips worked for me: 1. Always write an outline It is important to have a sense of direction if you want to write a great essay. Think long and hard about the points you want to cover and write down an outline. Make sure you include an introduction, a chain of thought-out paragraphs that nudge the reader along towards an argument, and a conclusion in which you reiterate and summarize your points, and spell out your verdict. 2. Stay on the point Some questions are easier to answer than others and you might get tempted to take the easy way out. Don’t do it. People will easily recognize if you decide to dodge a particularly large bullet and just skim over it. Tackle the big issues, especially if you’ve been given a question to answer. Keep in mind that writing a brilliant essay that doesn’t answer the set question is an exercise in futility, especially if you’re a student and the essay is going to be graded. 3. Include both your research and your opinions Present an array of arguments and make sure that they are balanced. This will give you an opportunity to demonstrate your in-depth knowledge of the subject matter. It will also show that you took the time to get into the nitty-gritty of the problem by doing more than what was expected and researching the author and the set text in detail. After you’ve presented all sides of the issue, take a stand. Write down your own opinion of the issue and corroborate it with the evidence and the arguments you’ve presented previously in the text. 4. Proofread - and then proofread again Don’t turn your essay in without being completely certain it is free from grammar and style errors! A spell-checker alone won’t do because it will not catch every slip you’ve made while writing. I planned to repeat again and after a months preparation before dec 2019, scored 90 in all sections. There are two kinds of student types in colleges, actives, and passives. This essay will argue that how it's more useful to be an active student in college for a great education. Being an active student can affect your social life and graduation classified. There is two way to studies in college. One is staying in the same city or province, that don’t might be to move for collage which is easy to live. The second one is to move from living house to collage city. Clearly, if someone studies at college far from home, being an active one is more helpful to escape from depressions. Active students are always searching for something even if the topic is not relevant to the department. This always helps to create connections with other students even more other teachers. For example. If one of the active students studies in a nurse academy and search for something for the deep-sea ocean. Then he or she can go to another department and ask questions and it can help to create a connection. It also helps when they are big enough to get a child and bringing up them. In conclusion, being an active student in college or anywhere in life. That is always will help to be a good person

English exams is one of the most important requirement when you apply for a course in universities or when you apply for employment purpose. There are two ways to prepare for English exams- either by attending a traditional school or by preparing online. I believe that preparing online is the best way to study. This essay will discuss why preparing online is preferable to most students rather than by attending a school/class. Preparing for an English exam online offers flexibility. For example, you can study at your own pace and at a time when its convenient for you. It helps you to take notes at your own speed and you watch the lecture again and again if needed. Attending a typical classroom session can sometimes be tedious and boring. These lectures can also be cancelled affecting your schedule. Your grasping power may differ from the other students attending the lecture. For example, it may affect your attention span and you may miss out on some important information. Even though we have 2 options of preparing for English exams, I believe that preparing online has more benefits and ease of learning than attending a classroom session.

I have been following you for more than 5 years now for IELTS earlier and PTE. I would argue that it's a relatively difficult task to complete the same IELTS Writing essay with the same structure in PTE in 20 minutes, while in IELTS we're given 60 minutes to complete. The only reason why we're taking these English tests are that we're not native English speakers and it's not easier for us to accomplish a task efficiently in such an insufficient time period. In addition, it is going to be even more difficult if we ought to write 2 essays in the same timeframe! 😢😑
