I'm stoked that patagonia is getting into the fight, but there have been a ton of companies digging into this at a higher level for a lot of years. Sitka, First Lite, Seek Outside, Argali Outdoors to name a few. Again, I'm glad they are on board but make sure to support all companies devoted to public lands.

In the end the people will prevail. The earth is unhappy and will gladly take out excessive humanity as it has for thousands of years. Support local conservation companies. I do.

I know why we need oil and gas, but those lands are to be set aside for us and untouched. The history and beauty there should never be beneath oil, gas, and rare Earth minerals.

Seasonal work with the Forest Service is the best way to gain experience & get a foot in the door if you're interested in dedicating your career to land management! Even if you don't plan to have a full career with USFS, NPS, or BLM, seasonal jobs can be a great way to get paid to spend time outdoors, work hard, and have a positive impact on the land you care about. You can see job postings on USAjobs.gov. Forest Service (USFS) is beginning their hiring for next summer season.

The problem is that ALL politicians are in the pocket of special interests. Lobbying is the culprit, along with the exorbitant cost of elections. @X Lo They're pretty open about where they have stuff manufactured www.patagonia.com/factories-farms-mills/. It's also not as simple as 'if they truly cared they would be made in america only.' You can also read about the selection process of who they partner with for manufacturing. It boils down to stuff like, how the workers are paid, the expertise the workers posses, the environmental responsibility of the factory, supply chains. You might be surprised, but a lot of this stuff isn't readily available in the US, you can't just flick the 'made in America' switch overnight.

Influence to use cleaner energy, great. A check in the mail, great. Estimates for the average joe? $250 a year. A built in stop on the tax once carbon emission fall below desired levels, great. My two cents as producer of this film and after learning quite a bit about these issues: We can't conflate large systematic problems with limited personal choices. It's just too convenient to make it be our fault, the little guys, when corporate interests are getting away with murder. But we can vote to change out the politicians doing the bidding of the fossil fuel industry and those that refuse to change the system. And as reasonable opportunities and more sustainable choices in our own lives present themselves, yes we should adjust our personal behaviors to reflect the world that we would like to see.

Patagonia manufactures outdoor apparel by working with 45 suppliers and factories. It sources from 14 countries including Vietnam, Thailand, China, Sri Lanka, India, and Bangladesh. I would like to see a documentary about the working conditions on those countries working for this great company. The irony here... It's a company with an agenda as well. Think why are they doing docs about climate and things related to their products...
