I think you’re very brave. It takes courage to travel alone extensively in a foreign country. You’ve brought us with you to remote places for some great adventures. That’s brave! 💪🏻

Thanks! For some reason I’m not afraid of solo travel; however I have major anxiety in my normal day to day life 😂 Thanks for following me on my adventures!

Great video. I was there in April 1973 after a stay in Oaxaca. We drove over a dirt road from OAX to PE - 11 hours. Only some surfers were there and about a dozen buildings for the town. Returned in 1989. Much more built up but still off the tourist path.

Hola Alfie, glad to see you had a good time in Puerto Escondido and surrounding areas. You're braver than I would have been, going into a lagoon at night infested with crocodiles it's pretty ballsy. Best thing you did was stay out of those rough beaches, the tide can pull you in/under and if you're not a very good swimmer, your dead meat. Looking forward to your next video. 😊

Thanks Lou! I was hesitant at the lagoon, but I would have kicked myself for not going for it! Besides, if I had to choose, I think I’d prefer death by crocodile to drowning in the ocean! 😉 Thanks for watching !

You need to add a few pairs of ear plugs in your luggage! They work great for the noise. :)

Ha, good idea. Usually my camera has a buffer o. the mic which works really well, but I lost it in Oaxaca. Headphones would be a good backup!

Informative video! Bummer there were so few places to swim, I guess it is really is a surfing paradise 🤙🏼 With a rational fear of brain eating ameba, you seemed really laid back after being there 🙃

Thanks! It is definitely a surfer’s paradise; unfortunately I was there at the wrong time of year to see them in action.

That piece of fruit shaped like a star is called a starfruit. No I'm not just being a smart*ss :) It's good for staving off dehydration because it has a little sugar, some electrolytes, and is mostly made up of water. Plus they are tasty.

The town seemed a little rough and undeveloped, which was refreshing. I think I recall a time when you drove a scooter on the an even busier highway…………
@GringoInterrupted
@GringoInterrupted 2 ай бұрын
It will probably change a lot with the new highway. After talking tos some locals, they say they aren’t ready for it. They say they don’t have the infrastructure, sewer and more importantly, enough water.

Haha, thanks! There’s more to come! Vallarta to Escondido sounds like you might need to fly and it would require a transfer. Or you could bus to Guadalajara airport and probably fly direct. You may be more interested in Zipolite! It’s super gay there! That video is coming soon. Thanks for watching!

@@GringoInterrupted First time I had Star fruit was in Cuba. I took a picture of the fruit while I was there but doesn't look like I can share it with you. I was with another person on my tour when we cam across this table with a plate of the fruit at a outdoor restaurant. It was delicious. But YMMV 😊

It looks like you walked right by the place I'm staying in November, the first orange building in La Punta! I only recognize it from my airbnb pics. I'm flying to Oaxaca for Dia de Muertos and ending the last few days in PE. Going solo also, a little nervous for how busy it will be for the holiday. I've been to other places in Mexico solo but not for a big holiday. May I ask how you went about learning Spanish and how long it took?

Oh wow, that’s funny! Ive never been during Día de los Muertos, but hoping to experience that this year! I learned in high school, but I grew up with Italian, so it came pretty easy for me. And I’ve kept up with it over the years, practicing with Spanish speaking friends and such. Have a great trip!
