Another entertaining reaction! Some fun facts -- 1) the only rollercoaster in North America that would allow us to shoot on it was at PlayLand Park in Vancouver, Canada. As you can imagine, it's not good PR for your coaster to be featured in a movie where people die riding it. But PlayLand is owned by the government in British Columbia, and they didn't give a rat's ass as long as we paid for its use. 2) the actors had to ride the coaster 26 times to get the shots needed. They all complained of headaches. One puked. But there were many, many more days shooting on the rollercoaster cars against a greenscreen. And suspended upside down against a greenscreen... your favorite! 3) as you noticed, Tony Todd wasn't available while we were shooting so we asked him to do voiceover. 4) The entire sequence on the subway at the end is a reshoot. In fact, there's only one shot of a real subway in action -- the stock footage at the top of the sequence of the car moving over camera. Everything else was done on stage. We built EVERYTHING. It was crazy. 5) please do try to suffer your way through FD4 to get to FD5. FD5 is an act of redemption. Carry on, sir.

Despite the fact that these movies have several deaths with strange odds, I always remember that here in Argentina three people died because a dog fell from a balcony. One of them by the direct impact, another from approaching the first one from across the street (wanting to aid) without looking the road, and another from a heart attack seeing all this. What are the odds indeed

So this movie came out when I was in high school, and a bunch of my classmates unintentionally all ended up at the premier in our town. I'm pretty sure the two tanning girls in the movie were named Ashley and Ashlin, and two of my classmates also happened to be named Ashley and Ashlin.. and they both liked to tan a lot. Let me tell you they didn't tan for 3 months after seeing this movie 😂😂😂

The fact that you kept calling her Elizabeth Olson was top tier. LMAO... Btw - 4 was the worse one, but the 5th one makes up for it, so you won't have to suffer for long.

A lot of people have wondered if Ian was supposed to die before Wendy then why would he be her cause of death. I think, her cause of death was supposed to be the sign that ended up killing Ian, but because Ian prevented her from walking over, he "intervened," death skipped her and went back around to him.

Devon Sawa as Alex, Ali Larter as Clear, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Wendy are my favorite leads in the franchise. They all gave such great and realistic performances

For me the picture premonitions were the coolest part of the movie. The clue in Wendy's picture was actually the cherry picker that crushed "Edward" except he was preventing her from going underneath it during the confrontation which caused him to unintentially intervene which caused it to skip her and circle back around to him. While the blurred faces and Kevin's face in the over-exposure photo match with their deaths, there's some speculation on if there were any bonus features in Julie's photo. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not but apparently in the carousel photo, there are circular patterns on the carousel that looks like a wheel flying towards her, foreshadowing her getting obliterated by a train wheel. I also find it interesting that the song that keeps playing says "Turn around, look at me" and during Wendy's death, she turns around to see another train approaching her.

Frankie is probably the 2nd grossest character in this series. He already graduated 2 years ago yet still comes back prowling high school grounds for underage girls.

Favorite death had to be Ian's (the goth dude) mainly because they actually showed post mortem spasms. They do that in other movies too, but in this one it's extra unnerving because of his thousand yard stare as he keeps twitching at the camera. Heebie jeebies for sure, but not anywhere close to the terror of the nail gun and tanning bed deaths.

It's always struck me as quite a glaring oversight that they had Frankie's camera be the catalyst for the rollercoaster going to shit and still have him get off the ride. Technically since he wasn't on it and the camera never fell and wrapped around the track, the crash shouldn't have happened, right? But also, totally agree with you on Mary's performance, she's such a strong actress and delivers a hell of a performance in just about every role. Her horror roles are especially great, I'd love to see her in more in the future.

The shot with Wendy and Julie that you asked if it were a green screen is called a split diopter shot. Used a lot in the original Carrie

The one shot you mentioned isn't green screen, it's a split diopter meaning you can have things close to camera in the foreground and in the background and both be in focus. That's why it has that feathering look around Mary. Spielberg used them a lot in his early films.

So another FD fact...the roller coaster sequence was actually mostly practical in terms of the actual riding of a Rollercoaster. They shot most of it on a small roller coaster built specifically for this film, and used CGI to enhance the size and height of it in post. They also shot composite shots with small roller coaster rigs on a green screen in a sound stage. For the actual coaster parts, the actors had to ride the roller coaster more than some 30 times a piece, so much so they literally all got sick of the damn thing. They even used wire rigs to hold them upside down for the part where the coaster car is stuck atop the loop.

I had a dream once where I got a whistle stuck in my throat and everytime I breathed out it did that little whirring noise. While it was funny initially, I pulled it out and it cut my throat on the inside and I felt hot blood rushing down my throat and I was essentially drowning in my own blood AND bleeding out. My biggest fear was dying in the hallway and my mother finding my body. Spooky stuff, very Final Destination.

When this movie was released on DVD there was two versions. The Standard Version and a special edition Joy Ride Edition wich head a special feature. Called choose their fate basically at certain parts of the movie it would pause. For a minute then two options would appear on screen wich ever one you chose would alter of the movie. So there is alternate Death Scenes an alternate scenes for this movie. They are on KZfaq If you look them up and there is. Even an alternate beginning that ends the movie after 5 minutes. That happens when the one does the coin flip at the roller coaster. If you choose one side of the coin the premonition happens she flips out. They all get off the roller coaster no one dies end credits with a thing with what happens next in their life. I don't remember all of them but for the one that had the vision she becomes a fortune teller.

The Taning Bed Scene is The Most Brutal Death Scene Ever.

There was an interactive version of this film when it came out and there was a scene at the end of the film in the subway where you could choose to look at a newspaper before the scene progressed. The newspaper mentions that the two main characters from the last film, Kimberly and officer Burke were actually killed. It turns out, officer Burke got his jacket caught in a wood chipper and started to get pulled in. Kimberly tried to help him, and apparently it pulled with such force that she release her grasp and it yanked both of them in. So yeah, Kimberly and officer Burke from the last film got sucked into a wood chipper. Fuck. Imagine that happening in real life, how horrifying it would be to witness that. I've seen a video of a man being sucked into a lathe, a machine that rotates a workpiece horizontally and just a video was mindboggling horrific. Got his shirt stuck where his arm was, sucked him on to it, and literally just started spinning his body around the rotating dial like a fucking ragdoll, and then his limbs started flying off. The imagery remains with me to this day.

The DVD version of this movie has a choose your own adventure setting. You can choose people's fates, and they have alternative deaths, or end up living for a few more scenes.

Of all of the times I watched this film and people's reactions to it, I NEVER realized Cory Monteith (Finn Hudson) was in it! Until you pointed him out, I always looked at Ryan Merriman during that scene. Aside from liking the other films, I was most excited that Ryan Merriman was in this film; he was one of my favorite actors at the time, and I still appreciate him dearly. When I was younger, I had written him a letter which I actually forgot I did. One day I received an actual letter back from him, in his own handwriting; he wrote back and responded to what I had written in my letter. He sent my original letter back to me because he didn't want anyone to find it since it was deeply personal, which I really respected. He was super encouraging, and it made me cry it was so sweet what he wrote back to me. He also sent me an autographed photo as well, and I still have it to this very day

For those who list “how you would hate to die?”, it may just happen…. I’ll go first! Stranded in the middle of the ocean with no raft. I look down and see a great white headed 70mph up at me from the dark depths. Just before impact I have a heart attack; still alive during impact. Luckily for me this could be caught on camera by Nat Geo. 😂

I have always had a huge fear of being stabbed. I just never ever ever want to be stabbed or god forbid, have my throat cut. Oh my god.

"Fun" Fact; Up too and including this movie, all the initial accidents in the 'Final Desination' francise where caused by bad maintainance, wich incidentialy is one of the most common avoidable reasons for RL-accidents. FD1: Badly maintained elecronics. FD2: Worn out chain. FD3: Worn out hydraulic seal.

I saw parts of the movie late at night when I was a teenager. The tan machine scenes shook me a lot

These death traps remind of something Wiley Coyote would come up with to get the Road Runner. Are we sure Wiley Coyote isn't death? He comes up with some elaborate traps to try to get the Road Runner even if he gets himself. But these trips have Wiley Coyote level creativity.

It's stupid they actually move the rollercoaster when they're upside down at the start instead of just hanging there and waiting. Can't wait to get back to the death track of death that isn't even there and looks like _/ _ so we can get ripped tf up as well. The being scared by the train coming at the camera bit at 35:58 is like when they showed people the first ever movie that was a train coming at the camera like 90 years ago and people actually dove out of the way because they thought it was actually going to come out of the screen and kill them all.

I still remember watching this movie in a PACKED capacity Black theater in Detroit on opening weekend. It was insane.

I think the worst way that I could think of to die would be falling out of a the top story of a skyscraper while being attacked by clowns and covered in snakes because that combines all of my worst fears into one horrible thing and it would be terrifying. I don’t anticipate anything like that when it happens but that would be how I’d least like to go.

In the last movie, dead killed a kid who scares Pidgeons. This guy shoot nails at them and her friend died, that was so unfair! She did nothing wrong and is not a bad person ☹😥The girl didn't deserved to go.

This rollercoaster scene always triggers my PTSD. I was actually on a ride malfunction. It was a pirate ship that did a full 360 loop and went upside down. It got stuck fully upside down at 180° and the harnesses came loose. Luckily they didn't completely fail. However, the girl sat between me and my friend was extremely slim and was slipping out of her seat. Me and my friend had to hold her into her seat to stop her from falling. Even though there was a roof of safety bars over the top of our heads, she would've fallen between them, she was so slim. The ride was stuck for over 20 minutes and they were the longest of my life. My arm had never full recovered from holding that girl in her seat. The theme park closed down not long after.

In the beginning when you say for alexa to play hot and cold, that turned my alexa on 🤣
