After riding my GS with and without the reinforcement supports on my Puig touring screen I have my final verdict. It was an extra $60 which is half of what the screen cost me. So I was very hesitant to spend that money. So I rode with the screen for 2 months without the reinforcements to see if they were really needed.
Still loving the R1250GS and so glad I made the leap. Upgrades like this are small and make a world of difference.

You should try a very short screen like the BMW or WRS Rallye or Puig Racing. Large screens cause more turbulent flow.

Hi sir, if I rarely ride my GS 1250 over 100 km/h (60 mi/hr) would it be ok without the renforcement brackets? Thanks, Marc, Quebec 😉🏍🇨🇦

Probly. But it is super annoying how flimsy it is without them. Even if it’s in full position the wind forces it way lower. I hated how it looked and preformed without the reinforcements. Up to you. It’s only another $70. Well worth it in my opinion. Look, but it without and u can always add it later

No, you need the optional mounting bracket.

Non related to the theme of the video.. I see that you own a quadlock with vibration dampener, do you fear it could be stolen while the bike is outside?? I own a GSA1250, im considering the quadlock but still not sure ... cause mine has to stay outside for long periods of time while im at work, during the night even.

The great thing about the quadlock is that you can take your phone off in a second. So just to clarify I never leave my phone on the bike. The component itself stays on the bike, but it’s only $30. If it gets stolen I can replace it. I never had any issues…plus to most people it’s useless unless they have the case on their phone. So why steal it? If they have the case they probly have the mount also

I have had the support for the past year. It has been excellent. It does add a step if you want to adjust the screen, but that has not been an issue for me.
