With welding wire, the area of the joint is strengthened. Afterwards by applying the electrode again at the appropriate angle, the metal can be remodelled. The result is a near-to-invisible repair that needs no additional machining, filing or finishing.

I agree with Steve's comment, these videos are great at showing what the PUK can do and it is a great tool but without showing the settings used they don't help. I have owned a PUK5 for a few years and I use it every day. It can do things that I hesitate to put a torch near but I still struggle to get the settings right sometimes, hence I continuously look around for information. Come on PUK, start putting the settings on all your videos.

For me , it is useless you showing the process of it without showing what settings you have used....why cant you start your videos showing you completing the setting first??

Hello Steve, Thank you for your comment. We would be more than happy to recommend universal settings, but this is only possible to a very limited extent. Every application is different and there are always new requirements for welding. Also, the alloys behave very differently. In this video, a hollow chain of 18K gold has been welded. The wall thickness was very thin, about only 0.2 mm. It's been welded in the presetting "gold" and welding geometry "thin", but due to the thin material, we had reduced the pulse duration to 1.0 ms and the power to about 20%. Wherever welding wire was used, we have used the presetting "welding wire thin" and also reduced the pulse duration and power as much as possible. Ultimately, we recommend starting with low settings for each new application and increasing power and pulse duration as needed. We wish you continuous success with PUK-welding - Lampert Team.
