This movie was loosely based on a real-life stalking incident Heather Langenkamp had to deal with back in the 1990’s. Apparently this stalker was so scary and was making life so miserable for Heather & her family, she had to move to another country for a few years to get away from him. Wes got Heather’s permission to weave her story into the screenplay for this film and that’s how it came to be

The shots of the city destruction were from actual damage caused by that earthquake. While not fully confirmed, it’s been alleged a few crew members actually left the film after the earthquake happened because they were freaked out given the plot of the movie and the tie in’s of fictional earthquakes in the script.

Speaking of Part 5, and I think I mentioned this in my comment on that video, but it's cool how this movie takes ideas from that film but executes them in a much more compelling way. That little boy was everywhere in the 90s: Pet Cemetery, Kindergarten Cop, Mercury Rising, Zeus and Roxanne, Full House, The Nanny -- Miko Hughes was basically the 90s Jacob Tremblay.

I love the curls but the blowout hair looks so beautiful on you, and your skin! It’s literally flawless! Glad to have you back on track and looking fabulous Heather Langenkamp did amazing in this ultra meta horror. It’s crazy the concepts this movie brought to cinema and film making back in the early 90s.

I was born in 87, but I grew up watching these. Can't even remember the first time. Had older cousins and siblings that got me watching. I do remember Freddy's Dead coming out on video, watching a little, and being too scared to watch the rest even though I watched other ones before, as corny as that one was. I was like 6 or 7 when I saw trailers for this one and was so excited. I think I finally saw it on cable or maybe I rented it a year after in came out, in 95. Loved it, especially since the way they portrayed kid fans was so spot on. A lot of us were way too young. I know a few kids, including myself, who made safe home made gloves like with butter knives lol. I was a weird kid. Surprisingly never was violent. Been in one fight in my whole life, and that was against a bully when I was 13. What Heather said to the doctor rang true. Every kid knew who Freddy was.

I love New Nightmare. Other than the original A Nightmare On Elm Street, it's my 2nd favorite in the franchise. I saw this movie in the theater with my mom when I was 13. So that scene where he pops out of the closet and says Did you miss me? Girl, I jumped so high that I practically climbed up the back of my chair. I've seen this movie billions of timesince 94 and I still laugh about that scene startling the crap outta me. Considering there were plenty of jump scares that is the only one I remember actually getting me. Definitely the kind of person who laughs after jumping in horror films LOL. Girl, can we talk about how good Miko Hughes was in horror movies at such a young age??!! You need to check out the original Pet Semetary if you haven't seen it yet! He's even younger in that one., Oh he was also in Kindergarten Cop with Arnold Schwarzenegger and If you're Full House fan you'll recognize him as Michelle's friend Aaron.

Hi! This is my favorite out of them all, it's the one I watched the most growing up, it's the one I rec to newbies to the nightmare. 😆 Don't you just love Heather's whoosh hair. It's because of her I've always wanted a grey streak.

So, I at least remember Dylan as being one of Michelle’s reoccurring friends on Full House! (Along with adorably tiny Jurnee Smollett, Tahj Mowry, and a few others!) I _also_ remember him as one of the many little ones in Kindergarten Cop! He was quite the little actor!

They made a fanmade short sequel to this called Dylan's New Nightmare. It also stars Miko Hughes the original Dylan actor and his Trex guard 😊

I remember when this movie came out, it was so exciting to see a fun and fresh take on the franchise that really connected with the original film. It's probably my second favourite of the series.

Alanda, with your love of the series I really recommend the documentary; Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy. It’s really good and goes through each film of the series and has a lot of the actors from throughout including the queen Heather. It’s long but a fun look behind the scenes!
