Just remember they're always empty of valuables and if they ever did contain anything of value you'd have to hand it over to the police. That should make it easier to leave all the safes behind.

I'm not sure why you would go back to an area where you literally spend more time trying to remove your magnets from sidewalls and beams etc of the canals. THAT has to be THE most hilarious magnet fishing adventure I've seen so far! It had me, the missus and our 4yr old lad in ABSOLUTE stitches watching it. 😂 😂 😂 😂 When Leigh pulled that pipe out of the river, it was like watching that magic trick where they pull a ladder out of a hat - it just kept going! No wonder Nicki is always smiling so much? 😂 We cracked up at the pink cake bridge bit, I've never seen a pink iced cake floor 3 grown men like that... You guys need a wood ramp with a pvc or plastic sheet on the river facing side to make it easier to slide safes. It would need to be at least 1 meter wide and 2 meters deep. Different types of hankering but I suggest 2 to 4 eyelets on the edge of the deck to attach cords or steel rodes with hooks directly on the ground or cords attached to trees or a car close by. The corner where cords or straps will rub it is good to find a very smooth piece of plastic like UHMW if my memory is good. Basically the green plastic that goes under skateboards resistant to lots of friction. It is possible to make it in 2 sections so easier to carry and more practical for using only half. Probably around 100$ in materials

I would suggest a collapsible plastic bucket and a collapsible strainer, so mud from safes, etc. can be poured into the strainer, and water from the canal can be poured over, trapping any large items in the strainer. Since they fold fairly flat, they wouldn't take up much storage space.

My husband built me some short guillotine that I put my magnets in when I get two stuck and when you flick it down it gets them apart. Made out of two by fours. It was the best thing ever!

For the multi tool, clean it first as much as possible, then make a WD40 bath for it and leave it in there for a hour. Take it out, clean it up and see whether it needs a bit more time. Think no more then 2 hours needed. It should make it fully functional again
