How is it that they need to go to such an extreme effort to clean up after accidentally shooting Marvin, but they don't need to do any clean-up after shooting Brett and his roommates intentionally?

carultch, they killed Brett and his roommates in a apartment that wasn't theirs, in a way that blood didn't splatter on them (somehow) in close proximity. If there were no witnesses to them going into the apartment except for Marvin who was on the inside acting against Brett and his roommates, then no one except the hitmen and their accomplice witnessed the murder and the getaway car, none of them are going to go to the police to turn themselves in. When Vincent accidentally shot and killed Marvin, they were in their own vehicle and blood splattered on both of them from Marvin's head while blood was oozing out onto the seat, it's harder to hide that from the police especially being on the open road and with many potential witnesses to see two guys in blood drenched suits abandoning a car with a body in the back. The cleaner "The Wolf" was only needed to clean up situations where Marsellus Wallace's employees were in a situation that they were likely to be caught by the police. If the killing of Brett and/or his roommates occurred (for some reason) in Vincent's or Jules' home, then a cleaner would be called to prevent the identification of a crime that occurred at their house rather than the home of some people the hitmen have no identifiable connection to from an investigation perspective.

One of the weaker parts of this movie is how someone as incompetent as Vincent could ever make it this far up the organization. I get it works for the movie but it does fail the reality test. He fails to check the bathroom at Bret's place, accidentally shoots Marvin in the face and leaves his gun out in Butch's place while he's in the bathroom which ends his entire career. He should have been dead long before this. Let's not forget almost allowing Marseilles's wife to die in a drug overdose.

JOXCY To be fair, you have to have a very low IQ to understand Quentin Tarantino. The humour is extremely obvious, and without a solid grasp of directing most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Quentin's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Michael Bay’s works, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly ignore the cringe of these jokes, to realise that they're not funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Quentin Tarantino truly ARE too smart- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Quentin's existential catchphrase "Dorks. They look like a couple of dorks," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated scholars scratching their heads in confusion as Quentin's retard wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂
