I fucking love Mr Wolf. The fact that he’s there for Vincent, helping him clean up the shitshow he created, and after V has the audacity to ask for a please, he still keeps his cool, and just talks to him like a primary school teacher talking to a kid who thinks they’re tough shit. Such amazing writing

That's what makes him the only REALLY cool person in the entire movie. All the others screw up some kind of way: Vince is a stupid loudmouth who got away lucky too often, Jules is mostly badass but the false bible verse and his plan to become a homeless weirdo... , Marcellus the big Gangsta King who can't even keep his ass virgin, Mia pretty smart & sexy but tries drugs she just found in a stranger's pocket, Butch is tough but mentally unstable and has a bad risk management, ... @@christopher1800 I get what you are saying, but as The Wolf says time is of the essence and really Jules/Vincent should be absolutely devoted to getting out of there ASAP and with respect to Jimmy from both (nobody wants to fuck up his life because it will expose them as well). Winston Wolf even explains himself saying it's not personal, he's not trying to be a dick but they are so up against the clock that manners need to go out the window for the sake of what needs to be done. Anyone that has ever worked a high stress, high pressure job understands what this all means. As long as you can all laugh and joke and relate and be chill when it's over then it's all good.

I mean, how? How in an iconic movie with so many iconic characters, scenes, story lines and quotes did Harvey Keitel roll in here and produce my absolute favorite scene of the entire film? Not only is there not a weak or wasted character anywhere in this film, but the flow is so good that even a “subordinate” character like Wolf can take center stage, putting Vincent and Jules in the background and it doesn’t feel forced or contrived. Everything is in service of Wolf. The few lines he doesn’t speak are mostly there just to set him up for his next sequence. And it works so beautifully. Fucking amazing

Bruce's role as the has been boxer was pretty much reflecting his own career at the time, but what a comeback! This is where the non-linear structure of the film reveals its genius. The audience has already seen Vincent gunned down by Butch. The audience may feel a bit bad for Vincent, but this entire episode, particularly Vincent's ingratitude to The Wolf who was there only to help THEM, re-orients the entire story towards Vincent not realizing how many times he avoids disaster and not heeding the divine miracle that Jules interpreted correctly. Jules could have even told Vincent later "Without me as your partner, your ass is as dead as fried chicken, within 72 hours. You just can't get by without me.".
