It's actually based from another scene in another Tarantino film True Romance: there's a pimp called Drexi who gets an impromptu visit from Clarence (who's fallen in love with one of Drexi's call girls) and he invites him in and asks him if he wants to eat anything which he doesn't which, he deduces, that Clarence is scared and isn't a badass meaning business since he doesn't seem relaxed or is distracted by the girls in his place who are walking half naked. Clarence flips it on him though because, although worried at the beginning, he is a a man on a mission. Bottom line: a guy who walks in and eats your food without a care means business.

Something I always love about tarantino characters is that in each movie there’s always one or two characters that seem to know they are in a story that’s being told by someone else. In this movie it’s very clearly Jules with how he has such lengthy speeches and his demeanor of being a bad mofo. While then characters like Walt’s in either Django or inglorious bastards both of those characters he plays always seems to have the perfect thing to say or do because they’re bad mofos but still have just that slight way of talking like they know they’re in a story ahhaha. Just something that always makes it fun watching Tarantino’s movies.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Did I break your concentration?" hahahaha.... this is such an iconic scene. The steel-snapping tension along with comic relief... or something. Lots both emanates from Samuel Jackson's masterful performance. But, everything and everyone did such a masterful job that its scene that I won't ever forget. And if I ever aspire to be a film director, I'll be studying this scene a thousand times.
