When this intro cutscene we’re playing, I confused about it’s animations. So smooth, that looks like REAL.

That alien flagship boss would've definitely freaked the hell out of me as a child.

Lmao at a glimpse I thought it said no bosses (all damage).

I played this game only recently thanks to the Arcade Archives. Extremely hard. Great video as always.

The final boss really astounded me when I saw it spin.

That third boss is something straight out of the Contra-verse.

Now those are some sick ass graphics.

I love the way this game looks.

Just like Blazing Star, I'm surprised how well the 3D-modeled parts of the game have aged - it still looks fantastic. It's, however, always hard as hell, no surprise the gameplay of Blazing Star was very different and more enjoyable overall.

Now that I realize it, the boss called Dragon has a similar design to Gomander, the second boss of the original R-Type. I even dare to say that Dragon seems to be a 2.0 version of Gomander.

Mix of Rtype, Gradius, and some of that fish looking thing looks like something out of Darius.

Kinda looks like an R-type clone. :P It also looks really awesome! I should look into playing it...

If I didn't know better I'd have sworn I was looking at an R-Type game. Not that that's a bad thing. Intro cutscene was cool as well, animation was very smooth for the time this came out.

I like the boss designs but they feel a bit derivative.... 1 - So far, so Super R-Type 2 - Almost identical to a boss from Gynoug, though at least it gets more attack patterns after it loses its head 3 - The whole "giant ship boss is the level" vibe is common enough but this does feel reminiscent of Cerberus from Thunderforce, albeit smaller and redder 4 - Darius meets R-Type! 5 - Pure Darius-ness 6 - Isn't this a recurring baddie from R-Type? Though its positioning reminds me of a boss from Arrow Flash... 7 - Almost literally copypasted from every R-Type ever (no seriously this thing is usually on the boxart!), with an added pinch of bullet hell to taste 8 - First stage is like a mix of the final bosses from Arrow Flash, Super Aleste and even Axelay. Does change it up in later phases.

For all the people that think this looks a lot like r-type, they were both made by the same people.

I also know other boss names Brain Computer Turtle Spaceship Giant Alien Spaceship Alien Crab Alien Shrimp Dragon Serpent Alien Leader Also, the 2nd boss astounded me when I saw it spin And the second boss made a popping sound every time I hit it

The best part is watching these things EXPLODE. How great does it feel to Destroy a boss you struggled with for so long? To see THe LiFe DRaiN FRoM ITs EyES As iT EXPLoDeS!

I wish the R-9a arrowhead can make an appearance in other space shmup games.

Опять не в свою епархию лезешь?))) Blazing Star делать будешь? Сколько же в Pulstar бессовестно свистнуто из R-Type. При этом, если ее сравнивать с играми серии - она далеко не на последнем месте окажется. Обойдут ее разве что R-Type 3 и Delta.

out of the boss roster id prefer blazing stars bosses although the bosses feel more intimidating here i always was one to prefer mechanical bosses over organic ones.

This was a great game but I felt it was a bit technical and reliant on pattern memorization. I'm more of a fan of it's spiritual sequel of sorts Blazing Star. More suited for SHMUP casuals like me and had a variety of characters.

Some of the graphics seem dishonest like FMV. No likey
