My brother took me to see them (unwarned!!) in Nottingham after their first album. Game-changer! Laughing Academy still one of my favourite albums to this day. Still have it on vinyl.

Punishment of Luxury will be playing Middlesbrough Westgarth Social Club on Saturday, 3rd December, 2022. Rubella Ballet will be the main support band and Klammer are also playing and one or two others.

Saw them 3 times in 1979. I haven't been able to catch them since so thank you for posting this gig. I love this band.

This is wonderful stuff. I saw them in 1979/80 at the Marquee Club in London, right in the front row - still one of my favourite gigs ever. I had no idea they were still at it, I'm going to have to try and track them down again! Thank you, Alison!

Thanks sooo much for loading up this video - in this fine quality! My favourites, now old men, playing their timeless debut album (Laughing Academy, 1979). I can sing along with every song and humm with every melody - in the jungle ugah ugah

COMING back to Middlesbrough's Westgarth Social Club in July 2016! There first appearance in Middlesbrough since they played the Rock Garden in 1980.

saw them 37 years ago in scotland (loch lommond) - one of my favorite bands. hope to one day catch them again. or save enough money to fly em to the states!

Bridge hotel Newcastle 1977, seen them, never knew they had reformed, I thought they were good enough to make a living playing music full time, they were better than most of the stuff around at the time,
