Purdue and Tennessee rematch with a trip to the Final Four on the line. I dove into some of the film of key areas that I think could pop up in this game.

It’s been a few months since they played that game. They won by 4 points. Both have improved since then. Going to be an exciting game for sure. GBO!

Great video Joe, thanks! I would like to see our defender on the ball up top ice the ball handler to go away from whichever side Knecht is on. Those pin downs are most of their offense and if we just over play that side and clog up the passing lane, then they will just go the other way. Yes that leaves it vulnerable to dribble penetration but I think it would be a good card to play and see how Tennessee responds. Knecht has had quite a few games where he starts really slow and I’m hoping we can go into half time with him only getting 4-5 field goal attempts. Certainly doesn’t mean he can’t explode for 25 points in 10 minutes in the 2nd cuz he’s done that too.

Call me crazy but I think that Ethan Morton could see some playing time against Tennessee. His size and length could give Knecht some problems.

Tennessee has a good defense but do they have an offense that can put pressure on Purdue? I don’t know if they do. One of the best aspects of Purdue’s offense is that it helps their defense by pressuring the other team to score at a faster pace than they can score, realistically. That pressure has a way of impacting Purdue’s opponents. We were concerned about Gonzaga, but Purdue won that game in a unique fashion, and our guys can do it again in yet another unique fashion, if that’s what it takes. They are on a roll! Your comment that Purdue isn’t really great defending screens is honest but true. Edey in drop coverage has always concerned me. But it worked at Illinois just like it did all season. We’ll see if TN can break the code. Great insight, as usual! Approaching 2,000 subscribers! Congrats!

Edey can have the inside fairly against our bigs.... guarding against the three should be our main focus imo because that's when Purdue can start to run away from you when they are hitting their threes.

With how purdue is shooting right now, Tennessee will be playing a dangerous game giving up a bunch of 3s

You cant double the post and "lock down the perimeter". It leaves an shooter open. Simple numbers. Now, if Purdue is not hitting their red hot 3pt % numbers, then that changes things. @@jxke_s

Battling with Edey takes a lot out of a guy, tired players commit fouls. And even I am impressed with the contributions Purdue is getting from everyone, I don't believe we've seen Purdue really let loose on a team yet. US sorta saw it, granted Edey wasn't even on the floor. Purdue pulled away from Gonzaga as if planned and once the lead was secured relaxed a bit. We're gonna see a game from Purdue that is going to blow everyone's mind.

Purdue shot 48 free throws in the first game and both of Tennessee bigs fouled out. Maybe the refs will let them play some defense this time, but so far in the tournament if anyone so much as touches Edey they've called a foul.
