Pure Red Lines aka Crystal Red Shrimp!

I have a hard time with keeping crystal red shrimp. I recently bought some PRLs. I also changed my soil to ADA Amazonia. Let’s see what happens!

I keep mine below ph 6 as well with ADA Amazonia. Theyre quite hardy compared to other caridina shrimps in my experience. RO water + GH mineralizer to get 90 - 110ppm tds. My aquarium room is maintained around 22degC. Don’t worry about ammonia in low ph and temp tank. You do need bacteria and lots of biofilm when starting a tank. P.S: idk why but you sounds nervous. It is like I’m listening to a job interview.

Okay so I did learn that ammonia isn’t as toxic in low ph environment? Thank you for your suggestions and I had coffee when I made this lol , I’m sorry it felt like a job interview. I’ll try to stay calm next time.

What kind of shrimp are they housed with? They won’t be pure too long if they can interbreed. 😅

Thanks for asking! So it really depends on your style and what works for you. Some master breeders do not change water. They just fill the top on the humidity loss with RODI water. Some others do 10-20% change weekly. I just fill the top with RODI water and occasionally add GH+. It really depends on how it works for you.
