It can! We have the same engine only difference is my turbo setup and exhaust. It’s just a custom 3 inch paired to a catless DP. Uses one Vibrant Ultra Quiet Res and 2 universal performance mufflers from Amazon

Keep em coming! - Still waiting for the invidia highflow/sportcat pipe to come here. Already have the Cobra Sport nonres catback, so plans to get custom turbo back blending those quite bassey systems on the GTI Clubsport MK7 on my channel 🙂

Great question! I actually am seeing a bit better gas mileage since the turbo install since I don’t have to go as far into boost as often. So post install around 32-35 mpg unless spirited driving then around 24 mpg.

i have the same exhaust setup with IE stage 2 fbo, but i don't have the universal mufflers. Which ones did you go with? Sounds amazing man.

When you rev it at a standstill like that are you using the Launch control feature to get it to pop?

No, those rev's are in Park. I have a tune file with SCP always on that I use to get those clips. (I can only do it on that file where as my other tune files only have SCP in sport)

I am running 93 octane right now with stock fueling asides from an upgraded HPFP.

@@HaydenCroix a upgraded hpfp makes a difference get a low pressure one plus bigger injectors and get some flex fuel going . I miss my mk5 smh thinking about getting a mk7 I don’t have to deal with my hpfp messing up every 12k lol like the mk5s lol

Would you say the hyrbid turbo is worth it? Gonna see about going stage 3 this year bc my is20 has 90k on it. Trying to look at all options besides just vw's is38

how did you get yours to rev so high standing still with pops? stage 2 sneeky stock turbski with dsg and mine is stuck at its 4K RPMs with no pops. only way I get it to pop standing still is going into launch control. Thanks. also any tips on flames? cant seem to get mine to shoot any.

In order to get it to pop and bang from revving you have to request a file with SCP always on. (I switch to it to get these clips) Now as far as the rev limiter, the car just needs to be warmed up I believe engine temps of 170-240 are required, and it will remove the rev limiter when in park.

Every car is different for shooting flames. I recommend playing with your throttle and just trying out different RPM's. My car shoots flames at anything over 5k rpm and the big ones over 6k

It’s actually considered an IS20 hybrid but it does use the IS38 cold side with some larger Garrett internals the IS38 hybrids can make about 50 more hp up top.
