“Upside Down” lyrics
24, staring in your face like it’s the front of the door
I know right now is hard cause this all feels like a chore
I don’t want this as a job help me find something more
I cannot tell the ceiling from the floor
Is this really what you want?
Swear I never meant to haunt
All I ever do is taunt
Couldn’t handle how you flaunt
Now it’s quiet on the front
Has been for so many months
Now it’s wild to remember I was in love with you once
It’s all love now, upside down
Let me go, cut the leash before
I lose us in a bad undertow
Have to channel how you made me feel
To play every show
Make my snide suggestions about
The things I don’t know
I will not catch a feeling I’ll just float
All that time across the pond
All this resin in my lungs
No more room to shoulder on
Am I even having fun?
Colin’s sleeping with his gun
Scott is looking for the one
Mertz is going by Ryan now that we’ve all had our run
It’s all love now, upside down
Carry baggage I can’t put down
Every show, every night, every town

Being now 22 and having been a fan of tssf since age 16, this song hits me on a tremendous personal level. For all those adolescent years I felt the angst of rejection, the unerving sense that I dont belong and this overburdening sense of resentment towards those who wronged me. But now that im older, Im realizing the true meaning of life and coming to terms with my past. Relating to the song, this is Parkers most personal to date, its as if he has forgiven the past and has accepted moving forward despite the empty feeling that always will follow. I will forever love this band as I feel like it plays a soundtrack to my life, as tssf grew up, I grew up. Incredible.

That's what the line - "It’s all love now" makes me think. Parker has grown up, he's forgiven and let go of past grudges, hate, resentment of his teenage and young adult years. It's all love now for him.

This video is so sick. Somebody corrected me if I’m wrong but I believe this totally looks like the empty field where the Quicksand music video was filmed. Basically up until now all TSSF songs were about being angry and bitter towards a girl who did him wrong and broke his heart. Now this song is about coming to terms and being at peace with that girl. And here he is again, full circle in the same field. This is amazing.

Saw them live last month and it was honestly one of the best shows I've ever been to. had the time of my life. I love the new direction their sound is moving in. Yeah, the new album isn't "angry TSSF" but their older music will always be there. Parker has grown and evolved, and this new album clearly shows that. Complain all you want, meanwhile the fans that actually appreciate their growth will be jammin' to the new bops.

Yep. Time only heals wounds when better things eventually happen for you. For some of us, that never happens. It only happens to the people that have damaged us. I could never be as happy for these people as some of these people who have written these paragraphs of comments hoping the best for exes and fairweather friends. I just kinda see them all as cucks tbh. I have no desire to see life the way they do. It's an invitation to being walked on. That's what I've learned getting older.

I come back to this comment section at least once every couple months. It's so comforting to see that so many of us have grown to become so in touch with and reflective of our similar yet unique pasts that led us to this exact style of music. And the fact that we're all still here, together, enjoying the same music as if nothing has really changed, even though so much has. That experience is so uncannily uniform, that we've been carried by the same wave for over a decade without even knowing it, that our life outlooks have evolved so similarly, and that this one song wakes it up in all of us. Even though we'll never get to meet I just hope we never drift apart as a community. I want to be in my 50s thinking these same thoughts. And here I am, at 28 years old, living a quiet & successful life, crying on a Saturday morning just because I decided to scroll through my old Spotify artists. Lol.

Man, if ya'll are feeling like time goes too fast, keep in mind that a lot of us are always feeling like we are "growing up". I kept thinking over the years that one day it would "Snap" or "Click" but I'm convinced it never does. I'm 28 and keep changing my outlooks constantly. Listening to people in their 30's and 40's feeling the same. I'm convinced nostalgia is a double edged sword.

Might be lame, but I’m saying this years later… TSSF has always lifted me up when I’ve felt down and this song released when I was at my lowest. I desperately left an abusive and toxic relationship, I was so desperate to leave that I lived in my car for some time. While this was all happening I had childhood friends that were cutting ties with me due to the individual i was with at the time. I even tried helping her out by giving her rides to school and work after we’d separated. Only for me to find out she’d already found someone new the week after we’d broken up.. In that same month my grandpa passed away… She called me the day my grandpa passed just to argue but I was having none of it. So that was the last time I’d have any interactions with her. I would spend my days working and staying at a place called “Netfragz” all night to play pc games and smoke cigarettes just to take the edge off. During that time I’d listen to this song on repeat even tho i loved the entire album this song in particular was calling to me and helped me overcome that point in my life. Almost 4 years later I have a loving family, a house, and 2 wonderful children. I have everything I need because TSSF inspired everything at that point in my life and pushed me to keep going. and I’ll never forget that. It’s amazing what the power of music can be capable of ❤ It’s all love now..❤️🥲

“Now it’s wild to remember I was in love with you once”. I remember breaking up with a girl about 3 years ago and listening to this song mid 2018 and hearing that line and sobbing. All these years later I totally get it. At the end of the day It’s all love now. Who’d have known a lyric so simple could have such a strong meaning.

I think the appeal of this music aside from a nice music arrangement is the bit of sad nostalgia attached to it. Back when the epitome of one’s problems was just growing up. What is happening to the world now though

Love this song. Love the video. Love it all. Being as I'm turning 24 next month and some other things that's happened this last year. This song resonates so much with me right now. God damn. Cant get tired of this. Masterpiece after masterpiece since I first heard of TSSF years ago.

Grown up with these guys. I’m 24 years young and found TSSF when I was 16. These times are crazy y’all. Stay strong and keep moving forward.
