So memeM is basically a play on the word 맴돌아, which means to wander. Basically, they’re saying that no matter what we do we can’t get them out of our head. We’ll wander in circles and everywhere we turn they’ll be there. It’s also a play on the English word memory. But it’s even cooler than just that. There’s scenes where Chaein has the word ME bedazzled on her tongue 😂, which is not only a play on the letters, but saying all you hear and think and speak will be “me”, as in Purple Kiss. They also say in the chorus “reverse it, it’s still memeM”. Meaning even if you turn back they’ll still be there. And that’s why instead of the title being written Memem, it’s actually memeM. Cause it’s reversed. I love how many subtle ways they carried the theme.
